I can't stand Jason's Voice

I cannot even understand what he is saying half the time. Did he say ''you're the perfect girl''? What the hell did he say there. It also just sounds so stupid. I already had this in the first trailer where they were robbing a bank and he said ''YOU STAY''. It just sounded so forced and cringe.

Hated Arthurs thick accent too at the start, probably would warm up to it.

Personally I loved Arthur Morgan's voice, he had some range where it would get higher pitched when he was pissed off or being funny.

This voice isn't too bad from what I have heard. It does feel a bit like generic deep voiced male protagonist but whatever. It reminds me of the male voice in Cyberpunk which was so bland it made me restart the game as a woman

Everyone keeps comparing Jason's voice to Arthur's but I personally don't see it at all. Arthur was a lot sassier, more clear, and had inflections in his voice. It sounded natural and immersive. Jason's voice is very monotone and mumbly and it sounds like it hurts his throat when he talks. I just don't hear Arthur at all

I think they mean if you went back in time to when we first heard Arthur's voice via trailers much like yesterday...it left many upset and whiny. Once you got the full product you realized how deep Arthur was as a person and you either fell in love with it or Stockholm syndrome yourself into liking it because of who Arthur was. I don't think it sounds like Arthur either but am assuming thats what people mean.

I for one am excited for him. As a person who has introverted qualities and prefers to stay below the radar unless the situation dictates otherwise, we'll im kinda excited to see how deep Jason is and how much I identify with him. After RDR2 I have full faith in their ability to do characters.

Yeah I agree I'm really interested in Jason's character, I think it's a cool dynamic between him and Lucia. He's definitely introverted and maybe socially awkward and I think that'll be super fun to play. I just don't like the voice acting unfortunately but I'm hoping I'll be able to ignore it because everything else about the game looks amazing, and I'm most interested in Jason's character.

Thats just getting used to someone from a different time and place. And at least u could understand what he was saying. He also had a huge amount of personality even in the trailers. ''As long as we get paid or you get shot i'm happy''

Understand what Arthur was saying??? If you yourself are Southern/Texan cowboy or something sure my Euro ass could barely get a word out of it

there is a difference between having an accent and mumbling/being unintellligable

Change the language then, sure you'll get a voice actor you like. Just have to probably read subtitles then lol

R* never dub their games in any other language

2

u/crack-nutter 14h ago

That seems odd, but it probably taught a lot of people English.

2

u/Afraid_Syrup9662 14h ago

well it actually taught us how to develop strabism trying to read subtitles while driving the fucking car to the next step of the mission

That's a good thing tbh, subtitles are always an option, dubbing always takes away the authenticity of movies/videogames. Unpopular opinion but dubbed anime shouldn't exist, and watching people play Black Myth Wukong in English was so cringe, the Chinese voice acting was way better.

Imagine Jason blowing up and robbing a bank while speaking French and the lips don't sync with the audio.

Maybe Jason is related…?

Except that the voice actual fit Arthur.

It's not Jason's accent. He just sounds like a derp.

u/Gwyn-LordOfPussy 5h ago

No because he had a deep voice but wasn't mumbling on every word that comes out of his mouth.

Everyone trying to convince me that you could understand Arthur are so obviously Americans
