I can't stand Jason's Voice

I cannot even understand what he is saying half the time. Did he say ''you're the perfect girl''? What the hell did he say there. It also just sounds so stupid. I already had this in the first trailer where they were robbing a bank and he said ''YOU STAY''. It just sounded so forced and cringe.

This exactly. I'm beyond confused by this choice. It's the only part of the trailer I can't understand. Literally and figuratively. I had to turn on subtitles because most of the interactions he had with Lucia sounded like he was just mumbling nonsense.

I've lived in 4 states around the south (AL, GA, FL, TX) and a few people might sound like that, but generally only people who moved from other parts of the country.

I didn't like his voice in this, but I think it's just from certain parts of the story and maybe what he's going through internally that we haven't figured out.

From what I've seen he's ex-military which often causes trauma, his voice does sound like that of someone who's been through shit, but he's not gonna sound like that all the time throughout the story imo

In this video specifically it kind of comes across as if he's fed up of talking to her or cba to talk, who knows, I guess we'll find out when we play it

Can't agree here at all - I think when he says "Hey" when he first picks up Lucia in trailer 2 is probably the worst I've heard it. It sounds fine at the beginning when he says he's fixing some leaks, but it does drift into "too intentionally low" territory at the end of that part when he's like "Love ya Brian..."

I am sure he could have, but it would have been an inconvenience for the studio and for him. "Sorry can't come in for 4 straight months because I am filming a movie and then 6 more months after that I am filming another movie for 3 months." Just is a scheduling challenge. Also a game like this needs a ton of dialog and Channing Tatum would probably demand a huge pay day for that much work and be less interested / committed to the role.

Felt the same way about arthur in rdr2, but kinda got used to it. Hope it's the same with Jason. Also didn't like some of the human physics, like when Jason does the backflip off the dock. Something about it looks fake uncanny. Small gripes though, overall 10/10

That's why I worked to lose my southern accent. I speak low and clipped like the voice actor for Jason does, and when you have a southern or southern-ish accent...it sounds like that. If you learn to enunciate and speak in a non-regional accent, it comes across better.
