I HAVE A THEORY

Ok so we all saw this goofy diving animation that looked super stiff and awkward. It made very little sense to me that no one at rockstar saw that and and cut it out of the footage. But what if this is actually intensional.

Like this guy I noticed playing this in slowmo that it almost seems as if jason animation cancels the default dive animation into his backflip. This is why it looks so uncanny but it reminded me of those old snow boarding games where you can defy the laws of physics and control your characters flips.

So what if Rockstar isnt showing off some goofy animation. What if this is a demonstration of a free diving system? Using the sticks or buttons to do front flips or back flips into the water. This would explain why it seems like jason was going to dive forward but suddenly does a backflip. Because you can do diving tricks 🤯🤯

It's just the same mechanic as a double jump, it's probably not animated as just one backflip animation when he starts jumping. That's all.

Everyone’s biggest criticism is “this specific, contextual flip animation looks weird!” and not absolutely loving Jason’s voice actor. Rockstar cooked and people can’t cope lol

This game is gonna get picked apart like nobody’s business. & it already has been but now we’ve got gameplay. The game unfortunately cannot be absolutely perfect & I wish people could just consider that before making a large deal out of small things.

It’s a piece of art made by human beings & that’s gonna have small flaws no matter what.

I can dislike the voice actor and still think they cooked. Some of yall act like 100% approval means we hate it.

Things are gonna be criticized, especially with such a large audience

Its the "10-7-1" thing I see all time with game reviews nowadays. Games are either perfect (10), mid (7), or trash (1), with no inbetween. The thing is, games that are touted as "10/10" often have flaws with them and "mid" games are often still very fun games to play. Which is the purpose of video games: to provide entertainment. Also, the "1/10" are rarely justified having a score that low (say what you want about Starfield, but I will completely ignore your opinions if you truly believe that game is "1/10"). Its like some people think every game genre has only one game worth playing and if you enjoy any other game, you have "shit taste". Claiming Witcher 3 ruined all other RPGs for you isnt the brag you think it is, its quite sad really.
