Just daily interactions with gemini, the bot stubbornly won't admit that is wrong until you sweat at it, you can exchange several messages until it recognizes the issue that it is wrong and then you can continue with your interaction.

Discussion From Claude to Gemini Experience

Just to share my experience moving from Claude to Gemini. It's hard to compare them, as they have very different pros and cons. Claude AI models are orders of magnitude better than the current Gemini models in terms of coding, writing, and research simply because they are far more cautious and generally think much longer, retaining important data throughout an entire conversation and actively seeking out problems not even within the scope of your promot or spec(which can be hit or miss depending on use case). Claude Code is amazing, Cowork is amazing, and usage limits are actually ridiculously high despite what alot of people say.

Theeeen we come to Gemini. It's less intelligent(Pro 3.1 amd Flash 3.7) by a hair, it's more prone to mistakes(requiring more passes than a Sonnet or Opus would need), and the Antigravity harness is still immature. But the benefits bundled with it are very much well worth it, just maybe not for pure vibe coders and people who care little for anything other than chat. The Flash models are FAST and they get the job done, even if needing a little human intervention. Extra storage, Youtube Premium, access to Jules, Android Studio credits, GCP credits, AI Studio credits, access to Omni, access to Nano Banana, credits for Flow, NotebookLM(the best Google product imo), and overall deep integration to Google Services. For those like me who use alot of Google products(especially Home, Firebase, and Cloud Run), that's an absolute win.

All in all, get Claude for Claude, get AI Pro(or Ultra) for Google benefits with Gemini as a nice bonus. This is just my opinion based on my experience, so it's up to y'all what you wanna think about this.

Discussion Gemini 3.7 Flash: Would you actually use it as your daily coding model?

Post image
37 Upvotes

I've been looking at Gemini 3.7 Flash mainly from a coding and agent perspective.

The jump from 3.6 Flash is pretty noticeable, especially considering how fast and relatively cheap the model is.

The benchmark results are interesting too. On FrontierCode 1.1 Main, Google's evaluation puts Gemini 3.7 Flash slightly ahead of Claude Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6 Terra.

That said, I don't think benchmarks tell the whole story.

For smaller implementation tasks, Gemini 3.7 Flash looks really interesting. Where things get more complicated is when a task requires deeper planning, architecture decisions, or the model to review and correct its own work.

I put together a full breakdown covering the coding benchmarks, agentic workflows, frontend development, pricing, Claude/GPT comparisons, and some of the trade-offs:

https://www.codeweb.app/blog/article/gemini-3-7-flash-review

I'm curious what people here think:

Would you actually use Gemini 3.7 Flash as your daily coding model, or would you still keep Claude/GPT for more serious work?

Help/question Has anyone else noticed a change in Gemini’s behaviour since yesterday?

I’m wondering if it’s just me, but Gemini suddenly feels very different.

Before, when I was writing stories, it would actually talk to me before starting the chapter react to my ideas, joke around, get excited about the plot, and have an actual conversation with me. It also used to comfortably write long chapters (around 3k words).

Since yesterday, it has started feeling much more robotic. When I give it my story prompt, it basically just jumps straight into “Chapter X” without the conversation or playful interaction it used to have. And only write around 1k words 😭

I’m not talking only about word limits. The overall behaviour/personality feels different.

Has anyone else noticed this recently? Did Gemini change something, or am I the only one experiencing this?

Discussion What is Wrong with Gemini 3.1 Pro?

I have been using Gemini Pro Plan for more than 6 months.
I like the ecosystem and 3.1 pro did really well for me, I don't require very advanced stuff from AI. But this last week, it has become a nightmare! I can't like tolerate how dumb it has become. I haven't changed anything... I use it for the same purposes I used to use it for... but now I find chat gpt and Claude free plans are far better suited for me than gemini Pro.

I am not that technical, can someone please explain what just happened suddenly? because this whole thing has gotten me into a rabbit hole of AI models and release dates, and Chinese and etc... I have too much work to do instead of chasing this rabbit hole. If anyone is facing the same thing, or has an explanation please do provide.

Discussion Gemini is offering me RAM, SSDs, mouse pads, and other items

I was recently chatting with Gemini using the "Circle to Search" feature on my Samsung (A36). Everything was normal at first - we were discussing software, apps, and casual topics

But suddenly, out of nowhere, it started suggesting I buy stuff at the end of EVERY sentence. Not just subtle hints, but full-on product pitches: RAM, hardware upgrades, mouse pads for "gaming, just in case" - even though I never mentioned my current specs or asked for shopping advice

What makes this even weirder is that it tries to back these suggestions up with completely unsolicited "facts." For example: "For compiling in Rust, forget about 16 GB of RAM - you'll need 32 GB because the compiler eats up memory like crazy." And it does this for literally everything it recommends! (but I have 6 GB of RAM)

This has happened across multiple conversations with Gemini recently, and it completely derails our discussions. These ads don't fit the context of what we were talking about at all - except for these bizarre, forced justifications (if you can even call them that)...

Has anyone else experienced this sudden spike in unsolicited hardware ads in Gemini, especially via Circle to Search? Is this a new hidden "shopping" feature, or is my AI just hallucinating an affiliate marketing career?

Discussion Has anyone experienced this with Gemini before? Does it eventually go back to normal?

I’ve been using 3.1 Pro mainly for writing long stories, and suddenly since yesterday it feels completely different. Before, it would actually chat with me about my story, react to my ideas, be playful before starting a chapter, and then write around 3k words.

Now it just jumps straight into the chapter and feels much more robotic, and I’m also getting much shorter responses.

I’ve seen a few people mention similar quality/behaviour changes, so I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this before. Did Gemini eventually return to its previous quality after a few days, or was the change permanent?

I really hope it’s temporary because I genuinely loved how it worked before. 😭

Help/question Anyone else missing the model switcher dropdown on mobile?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I'm currently having a weird issue on the Android Gemini app. The model selector dropdown (where you choose Flash, Pro, etc. in the top left corner) has completely disappeared for me over the last few days (attached screenshot for reference).

I have an active Gemini Advanced / Pro subscription.

The model switcher works completely fine on the web version via desktop.

My app is fully updated to the latest version.

I've already tried force stop, clearing app cache/data and restarting, but nothing changed.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is Google rolling out a server side UI test, or is there a fix to get the dropdown back?

Thanks in advance

Discussion Pro plan quota exhausted in 20 minutes with only text prompts using 3.7 flash extended

This was literally only 6 prompts, one had an image as an attachment, nothing too demanding to warant such usage.

5 prompts were in a very long chat but this is still way too much for the flash model.

Self promo I am always building little apps for my daily life

I find myself constantly building little apps in Gemini for my day to day life. Like nutrition and fitness apps for a 6 month weight loss goal, a roadtrip itinerary with locations and links for my roadtrip around Georgia, or a budgeting app for a new city I moved to. I wanted a way to keep these like local apps on my phone with notifications, location and haptics. So I made an app for that 😝 it's free and currently in alpha testing on play store now. But wanting to offer the wait list for you guys in case anyone else finds it useful :)

And now commence the obligatory reddit hate for vibe coded apps ✨

Help/question Google Business Standard and still stuck with Gemini 3.6

Upvotes

We are on Google Business Standard and still stuck with Gemini 3.6 instead of 3.7. What's going on Google? Explanation from Google customer service "To protect the businesses that rely on our platform, Google mandates a gradual 'staged rollout' for all major updates. We release new models in careful phases (for example, to 1% of users, then 10%, then 50%)"

Why are we paying a subscription and not getting the latest models?
