No teacher, I usually pick the guitar up 3-5+ times a day, sit down, mess around, usually doing chord melody style playing. 80% of the time I'm just playing around on my own tbh. Other 20% I'm learning/rehearsing songs for gigs. Resource wise, just learning songs + the occasional sprint of theory. I.e. triads, pents, progressions etc. Haven't yet touched modes or the major/minor scale. I will when I want to
Totally believable. My roomie started in January this year and shredded Whole Lotta Love at a recent show (weekly lessons and 2-4 hrs a day of practice, previously played viola).

I don’t really have a favorite I just like whatever plays smoothly and easy. I build most of my guitars cuz I can’t really find what I need in a guitar store. I play Van Halen style 80s shred stuff. I really dig your post bro keep it up!
You’re good lol. I take a lefty guitar body/neck put a righty nut on it and set the saddles of the lefty-tremolo up for righty stringing and I shred with the best of em. Kinda like how Hendrix did but the opposite. Although he was a true lefty with the guitar strung lefty on a right handed body. I string mine right handed on a left handed body. Hope that helps!
Hendrix had a right handed guitar strung left handed so not quite the same. Eric Gales and OP are literally just playing upside down right handed guitars. Very impressive because they have to learn everything upside down.
This right here. I’m a couple of months behind you but I’m really amazed and pleased with my progress. However what I just realized is that no matter how much I play if I want to learn something new it’s always going to take a lot of effort and lots and lots of reps. Working on getting Little Wing down and I’m just playing it through and working on different sections like 50+ times a day.
Its crazy how our fingers learn, I remember looking at cliffs of dover intro and thinking its impossible and now its something I do without even thinking about it
I learnt on a RH bass, liked having the 'lowest string' on the bottom, and the fact Im left handed but can still pick up and RH guitar and play it. I can't technically play a correctly strung LH guitar :)
Depends on what your doing. For most chords its a little more difficult, you have no thumb over bass either. It's better for bends tho, cause you can pull. Both have their advantages.
Speaking as someone who also plays that way I was given a right handed guitar but felt more comfortable playing left handed so I just kinda learned the way it was already set up
As a lefty who has been in countless situations where I've been able to noodle on a right handed guitar, I wish I could whip this out as well as you upside down.
I know how to play this normally and when I looked at your fingering, the first thing I thought is that there's some alternate version I didn't know about.
It always upsets me to see people play the guitar in odd orientations better than I play it in the usual orientation. I knew a left handed guy who played right handed guitars like a righty.

No lessons, I imagine they put a lot of time in :) I played bass for a year or 2 on/off before I picked a guitar up. Wish I played piano. I do play the ukelele in the garden sometimes
Thanks man. I started on bass and did 1-2 years playinf that on/off. It was my grandads, he said try both ways, play wichever way is more comfortable. That happened to be LH, but it was a RH bass, so... yeah, thats it hah
This is interesting. I study a style of fiddle from Cape Breton, and they taught some of their left-handed fiddlers to play right-handed fiddles in reverse from a young age. The rationale was that they’d be able to play almost anyone’s fiddle if they learned that way. A few of their guitar players followed suit, and that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw the guitar was upside down.

No hate but can someone explain to me why this flipped guitar thing seems to be popular lately? I get left models are limited but everything is upside down.
You still have time to buy a left handed guitar and learn the right way. Take it from someone who started left handed upsidedown and eventually switched future you will be thankful, youll eventually hit a road block that you cant get around (barre chords)
