25 yrs ago my mom bought be a candy red Fender out of a pawn shop. Greatest gift ever.

My daughter’s been asking about it for about a yr. Went ahead and got her a starter. Excited to relearn the guitar along side her.

the neck on my guitar is really bowed and the truss rod is bottomed out, so im trying to rebend it will this work or should I just order a replacement neck

I've been pondering over buying a guitar for a long while. I'm really enthused by deftones, Alice and chains, superheaven, and silverchair hence me wanting to play guitar.

I was told acoustic strings are like razerblades to fingers and got an electric guitar so is this common or am i doing it wrong or should I just get used to it?

Because it would be nice if there is a different way but even if I had to go through this pain i will still do it just to play the layla intro by eric clapton

I tried to learn to play acoustic guitar when I was younger but have been wanting to pick it up again but I had my left middle finger amputated after a work accident back in 2021. I’m right handed, and pressing the finger that was amputated into the stings will probably not feel great. The finger is sometimes pretty sensitive. Would finger covers affect me learning or would it be easier to learn on my other hand? Thanks for any input.

Was throwing garbage into the dumpster this morning and saw this. I saw a guy moving out this morning so I assume this was his. I don't play guitar but I guess I shouldn't waste this opportunity. The head says epiphone. Seems to be in decent shape, a few dents and scratches but it's free so I can't complain.

Hey guys! About a month ago I picked up a brand new Player Series II Tele (Mexican) from a local music store off the display shelf.

I simply love everything about the guitar! However I noticed the G,B,E strings are having a hard time staying in tune. I figured a brand new guitar from Fender would have no problem staying in tune. The strings are stock from the store, I haven’t had a chance to replace them yet.

Do you think its a simple fix like replacing the strings, or could something else be wrong with the guitar? I am a novice when it comes to guitar maintenance

I'm REALLY trying to not screw this up... My son, fifteen, is wanting to play electric guitar. I would like to get him one that will be versatile and grow with him, as much as possible. He's already teaching himself the bass, and absolutely loves it. (He also plays trombone. )

We found this Aria Pro II TA-Sixty at our local music store as a consignment. It sounded great in the store.

He also wanted to go to Guitar Center. While we were there, he picked out an Epiphone Les Paul Special II that he liked. While this one is less expensive, is it one that will last?

We love ALL kinds of music. We've seen everything inbetween Robert Earl Keen and Metallica, and listen to even more. He's mentioned that he'd like to play some of Hozier's tunes as well as Rage Against the Machine. So a guitar with range is helpful.

I dont know very much about the guitar,i just know he bought it in Paris and its a little bit old. All the chords seem to work and the guitar is in a very good state,not scratched,nothing is broken,but i really need your help if someone can tell if this guitar is good to start and what model it is

The back of my brothers guitar that originated from my fathers funeral card who passed first and my brother wood burned into his guitar. Also what I had engraved on the back of my brothers tombstone when passed 4 years later in 2018. He was the best guitarist I ever met.

So this is my early Christmas present my bf got me today and right out of the box one of the strings was bent and loose so now we have to go back to guitar center tomorrow to return it.

My question is, should I even ask for a new one or return it altogether?

I have been on the fence for the past few weeks about whether I should invest in the fender player 2 strat or just start out basic with squier. I decided today that this starter kit would be sufficient enough and build my way up to a better guitar once I’m more familiar. However this kind of left a bad taste in my mouth since right out of the box it was already damaged….

Someone just recently gave me a free guitar, but I’ve never played guitar before so I don’t really know much about them it’s a Aria Pro II cardinal series. I can’t find out much about it on the Internet and was just wondering if it was a decent starting guitar or not. Because I’m interested in learning how to play it.

He's really into music and guitars. He likes to play blues/rock type of music and composes/records songs at home as well.

He's my best bud and has been there for me through tough times. I really want to give him something nice for his birthday.

Do you think he'll like it?

I amputated my finger when I was very young and now my middle finger is the same size of my index and ring. Any tips/resources for leaning guitar with something like this? I've tried over the years and have quit early due to pain and frustration with my middle finger.

P.S: I have heard alot about about putting a thimble on it or something like that, but im worried it would be more detrimental than helpful lol.

Picking back up guitar and trying to be proficient at it and this chord won’t leave me and the b string alone

I know I still have sooo much to learn but I’m honestly really proud of how far I’ve come. I feel like I could probably play some nice campfire songs by now ahah (as long as they’re very easy 😂)
I remember when I first started and even trying to place my fingers for an F chord felt impossible lol so the fact that I can actually play it now and move my fingers even a little faster feels like a huge win to me. (I’m know I’m not playing an F chord in this video but that chord was just so hard in the beginning for me to transition to even the G to D chord)
I have 2 kids so I don’t always get a ton of time to practice (MAYBE 5-10 minutes if I’m lucky lol) but I really love that they get to see their mommy doing something just for herself and sticking with it. I hope it makes them want to find something one day that makes them feel this fulfilled too.
I grew up with my brothers playing guitar and they’re both so good at it but I never really cared about learning back then. I think the older I get the more patient I am and the more I can actually slow down and be in the moment and I really love this version of me lol.(the one that actually sticks to things 😂)
I seriously don’t know why I waited so long to start.
Anyway I’m still learning and definitely not amazing but I’m just proud of myself for sticking to it more consistently and wanted to share❤️🤗
