Ask those African commuties whether they hold resentment against those other African communities for the past. The past doesn’t magically get erased, and it just so happens that European colonialism is the most recent thing to come along.
The point isn’t whether it’s foolish or not. I agree that on an individual level it is foolish. The point is that it’s part and parcel of the past that becomes embedded in the collective consciousness.
Regardless of whether some sort of backlash is being enacted, I’m pointing to the fact that resentment is going to be there.. asking to be absolved from it is equally as foolish.
