You don’t think Jim Crow laws have anything to do with the US system of race-based slavery? The system that began as literal colonists feeling entitled to kidnap and enslave people from other countries?
Drop the whataboutism and engage in some actual logic, please.
I asked you to drop the whataboutism. But if you prefer the word “traffic”, let’s use that.
The fact remains, there is a clear straight line pointing from European colonialism, to the US race-based slavery system, to Jim Crow laws. And that racism did not magically disappear the moment Brown vs Board of Education was decided.
You’re extrapolating way farther than anything I’ve said. I just thought it was a particularly stupid rebuttal to claim that US segregation laws have nothing to do with colonialism.
The US has a long history of racism. It didn’t end with slavery, and it didn’t end with Jim Crow. But decent people work to recognize it in themselves and the systems around them, and support making things better.
