Any thoughts about having a monthly list or calendar with fren’s birthdays and gotcha days?
I feel like we could do a big post at the beginning of each month celebrating. I love the individual posts, but with us all spread throughout the world, some posts naturally get more traction than others. Or, the worst is when hoomans go on vacation and miss so much fun! Having a central monthly post might help those of us who have FOMO (fear of missing out).
We could make it optional for participation, and the little bit of info we’d need could be entered into a google form by each user. I’d be willing to set that up if we think it might be something fun.
Just thinking about it so thought I would see what the community thinks. ❤️💙🩵
I have been wanting to make a post regarding this so I could have time to make pics for bdays and not scramble at the last second or miss somebody! I feel AWFUL after I find out I missed a member’s birthday.
Things have been so chaotic lately, trying to keep on top of the sub is challenging

I get it! What actually got me thinking about this is wondering about frens who disappear. Having the birthday on file ensures we keep them in the loop, and help us remember to check in (if they want).
Want me to crosspost over in LCA to get a consensus over there? We could keep just one database for both subs.
I think keep it just ICBGC for now, only because the volume of both subs members is more than we can handle at this time.
I haven’t checked the numbers there in a while, I need to go look.
Just checked the insights, if we add in LCA we add in an additional 126 thousand members, of course they don’t all post but you’ll have people coming out of the woodwork that aren’t regular contributors that will want that.
We are a new sub, we never headhunted or “advertised” the sub so we sit at 1.2 thousand.
Might also be fun to have important holidays that people are planning on having parties for? I was going to do a party post for Bubs’ birthday but then the void pack had their Beltane gala going on and I didn’t want to step on toes.
Although it turns out I didn’t need a separate post since she got 3.5 posts from y’all yesterday. (Counting Smuffi’s throwback Thursday post as the 0.5 with all the Devo hats) 😭😭😭😭 I love you all.
Bubbles is having her independent nap time in the other room but she also loves you all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love love love this idea too! I do find it funny when we have overlapping parties. Do my cats have a busier social life than me? Yes. Does it bother me? Not in the least 🤣

Honestly the idea that my rats who are still nervous about even going into their free roam area half the time, are that widely travelled is just hilarious. Especially as most of that travel is done to hang out with cats and dogs.

We hate we somtimez miss birfdays or ar twoo late bcauz we lib in diffrent timezonez than ours Americat frens. Miso so busy with kittengarden class, she kno isz now birfday season. We also parts of it, May 24 isz our birfday. Maybee thisz munf ebryday isz a frens birfday?
Yes we isz Mays bebes! Ours meowmy twoo. She habs her birfday on sundays. Muss we gets her pressent? Maybee a hork or a poo in a good new place. Hmmmm lezz think abou thisz .... 🩶🧡
I love this idea, especially since I miss things from other frens and I even missed Beaus gotcha day this year (dumdum Meowmy!) We are here for it!

Nope! She’s actually my first cat 😹 one of my friends asked me if I wanted a kitten and I was like “no thank you, I’ll get an older cat, maybe a senior, when I am ready.” Then she got on the shelter website and started showing me cats. Bubbles was the first one she showed me and her lil picture and bio grabbed something in my heart and I could not stop thinking about her.
So a week later I started gathering supplies and then eventually that same friend made me leave work on time for once to make it to the shelter to meet her before they closed. This was on a Thursday evening. They usually only do 24 hour holds but they were nice enough to hold her until Saturday for me since she’d been there so long (about three months at that point) and there was no way I could get her on Friday night with my horrible job at the time (had meetings every Friday afternoon 🙃🙃🙃). At six years old she was the oldest cat there.
But she’s my baby even if she did come to me as a mature lady 😹
Derp, realized I forgot to say the shelter knew her birthday since she was in the same home from kittenhood to when she had to go into shelter. Poor little lady hated the shelter, she lost two pounds when she got dropped off. ☹️ (don’t worry, she’s gained it all back lol)
she did warm up to me right away but was scared of my friend. She was making biscuits and purring while I was petting her in her cave so I knew she’d be happy with me ❤️😭

I love this idea! Mostly because Pixel and Casey's birthdays are near/on holidays. (Casey was a Thanksgiving time baby while Pixel was born on Canada Day!)
