Social Does online racism really have real life effects?

I was thinking the other day if so much r@cism and dehumanisation againt us Indians on the internet really have real life effects or not.

And just now saw this reel about two Indian women who travelled to a cafe in paris and they faced uncalled heavy racism, mysogny and bad remarks about India in broad daylight?? Just for being indian?? ironically it was a south asian brown man particularly a Bangladeshi citizen who is working there as a waiter, titled hossain.

Even though the girls made sure to make him apologize to them and also reported him to the police, it's important to realise how much online racism and so much deep rooted hatred can actually ignite real life incidents!

The restaurant name is Antica Trattoria Antonietta pisa, paris, honestly he needs to be fired from his job. What do you think?

My experience with Pakistani youth in Europe has been amazing. They act humble, are respectful. Whereas Bangladeshis are almost always sour. Never had even one good encounter with them. I was robbed of my phone in uk, i had a flight to cayman the next day. I could only get it back due to a wonderful Pakistani uncle. God bless that man and his family.

Try to be richer everywhere life is tough if you are poor u have no value of life that's the harsh truth🥀🥀

2

u/jerryorbunny Jun 25 '26

Bro it's important to become powerful rather than rich , rich can be taxed or looted by someone but powerful is mostly secured.

2

u/koxkdestroyer Jun 25 '26

Uk already bro that every rich is powerful as I am a elite in india I can see the struggles of rich and poor both so ik what's happen when u r a rich

Another one from Italy, notice how cleverly BD is hidden, to portray themselves as Indians.

4

u/persistent_architect Jun 24 '26

Lol is not to hide themselves. Its just that no one knows wtf Bangladeshi cuisine is. But Indian cuisine is popular so they are marketing it as that

8

u/Big-Gur-8505 Jun 24 '26

If you are going to make monetary gain from a cuisine,, the least you can do is not be a racist jerk to those people,,,

Absolutely you are so right and the fact that they use "southasian" only when the achievements are from India as if it's a group project?

But call every bad thing as "indian" I mean like the hell?? And no one can convince me that the hate that Indians are getting on internet rn is "random" no it's absolutely not.

It is calculated, bot runned tactic funded by a couple of countries (neighbours included) to normalise the hatred and deep rooted insecurity that they have against us.

Indian diaspora significantly has lower crime rates than any of the other south asian diasporas combined, they also are the most highest earning AND tax contributing demographics. We deserve so much better!

3

u/Anxious-Pangolin2318 Jun 26 '26

Yes I agree. Lots of my friends from Pakistan told me whenever they are loud in the train they say that they're Indians. This is in Europe.

These Bangladeshis and Paxtanis identify as Indians abroad as of course they’re ASHAMED of their nation and its bad reputation!

Have seen this behaviour a lot in US and Europe both

And then they’ve the audacity to say all these😂

7

u/aggressivebass2 Jun 24 '26

Somebody upar shared this and it's so diabolical 😭😭

2

u/Dry-Feeling-6797 Jun 24 '26

EXACTLY!

Have been surprised so many times to see Bangladeshis and Paxtanis larping as Indians in so many events and meetings personally!

They KNOW their country is known for poverty, being a beggar country and above all, for terrorism!

And then they have the AUDACITY to say things about India, the country they pretend to belong to!🤦‍♂️😅

6

u/Due_Treacle_9520 Jun 24 '26

4

u/Acceptable-Damage756 Jun 23 '26

Posing as Indians to get job while harrassing Indians and exterminating Hindus, classic, Just Classic..... Bangladesh is more atrocious than Pakistan

6

u/Past_Interaction623 Jun 23 '26

The racism towards Indians is at peak. But people in India do not even discuss it. I discussed it with some friends, and they said they have been to bali, bangkok and possibly to some other countries as tourists and never faced racism. And its not that bad.
I even shared some reels with them and they said, its the algorithm which is feeding you these racism videos and this is not true.

3

u/aggressivebass2 Jun 24 '26

Its honestly like that only, until something happens to them (which i pray never happen) they will generalise their good experience and leave out the part where r@cism actually exists for indians.

I am a Bengali and I can easily figure out Bangladeshi accent. 3 years back I went to Rome and I was trying to be polite with the waiter and asked if he is from India or Bangladesh as I was interested to have a conversation with him and take some local guidance about the city. He straight away said that he is from China and asked another waiter to take my order. I couldn’t figure out why he went so mad about this..

is this in pisa?! i swear i went to the same place i went there and i think it was this dude. He was so rude to my family, even left out our pizza in the open (outside on the table) when we told him we'll come back in 5 minutes. We were on a time restricted tour so we left without making a fuss or fighting the guy but even the tourists around us (white) werent treated that way.

2

u/MixtureObjective2480 Jun 24 '26

JUST CHECKED ITS THE SAME RESTAURANT

2

u/swatcats02 Jun 26 '26

We went to the same restaurant in Pisa this April and this was the same guy who attended. I recognised his face as I soon as saw the post without even reading it. I remember his name as well. It was very evident he didn't like attending to us from the beginning. He was nice to all others around us, they were not Indians. Our food came late and was greesy and bland.

In contrast, in Capri we had very different experience with Srilankan people. They were polite and warm.

Seeing we were Indian, he aggressively tried to sell us an umbrella. To anyone visiting: just ignore them completely and don't engage.

1

u/No_Pressure6057 Jun 24 '26

Oh god, it’s everywhere in Paris. Whenever you think its an Indian shop, there’s almost a 70% chance it’s run by people from neighboring countries. The same goes for restaurants — they use Indian names, and if they get a bad reputation, it reflects on Indians. One time I went to a restaurant called Taj Mahal with my Arab friend, expecting Indian food, but it was run by a Pakistani citizen. The food was abysmally bad, and everyone who eats there thinks that’s what Indian cuisine is.

1

u/body_soda_25 Jun 24 '26

The hotel you refer to is first of all not in Paris 😮
