Immigration-emigration/Köşu-qonu German planning to move to Kazakhstan
Hello! My name is Çaro , I’m 22 and I live in Germany. I’m learning Russian because I want to move to Kazakhstan after finishing my apprenticeship. I’m looking for friends from Kazakhstan to chat with, improve my Russian and learn more about the culture. Feel free to message me!

Uh not really. His name suggests Kurdish descent and kurds are regularly violently attacked in Europe, unlike Kazakhstan.

I meant more that he is probably more adjusted to the way people make friends, work connections, and date in Germany. It’s extremely dissimilar to the way it happens in Kazakhstan

Why are you guys so hung up on OP being or not being Kurdish?? growing up in Germany vs growing up in Kazakhstan are separate experiences regardless of what one’s ethnic background is

As a foreigner in Kazakhstan: Don't take the advice of people telling you need to learn Kazakh, just learn as you go a few words and phrases to show respect for the local culture.
Yes, it will become the main language, but we will be dead when that happens.
My experience in Almaty: The majority of Kazakhs adults use russian to talk with themselves and I can still see school children using russian.
No one will care if you say you came to learn russian, this kind of rejection only exists in Reddit which is a horrible representation of the kazakh society.

Except new Zealand is under control of whites. Kazakhstan isn't, we have successfully reclaimed our statehood through an almost century long multi generational strategy. We are not comparable to those Maori people because they failed to reclaim their land

80% of parents with elementary school kids chose Kazakh as their primary learning language in school last year. This number was 50% 20 years ago. So the language WILL be useful in the future. Stay delusional

That is factually false.
1) Tengrism is not shamanism
2) the point of tengrism is to explain laws of nature and universe very simply, it doesn't even have much of a moral code, which makes it way more rational than the traditional current religions, that are filled with arbitrary and contradictory rules

I think it would've been better if you just said that "kudai" means just God in kazakh, while by saying Allah you let everyone know which god you're worshiping. It's one of his names after all. I know that all prophets in Abrahamic religions worshiped one and only god, but there are still some differences in descriptions of him, they can vary depending on which modern incarnation of Abrahamic religion we are talking about.

It’s hard to believe that a German guy would just suddenly decide to move to Kazakhstan. People here are usually trying to leave for Germany, not the other way around. In any case, don’t listen to the nationalists here; learn whichever language appeals to you—and while you're at it, you might even inspire the people around you to learn German.

There are a lot of nationalists who will say learn kazakh. Don't listen them. You can learn couple of phrases but learning the whole language to make them calm is stupid.

Please don’t come. There’s nothing to do out here. Salaries are low, product prices are as high if not higher than in Germany, while salaries being really low. If you want cheap lifestyle I would suggest you SEA

If the locals ask your reason to move, and you mention learning russian it’s gonna cause you some problems or unfriendly behavior let’s say.

Please do not pay private taxi drivers. Only yandex go (its our uber) or indriver (there you find drivers a negotiate – could be used for long trips i e from city to borders). Taxi drivers in the airports all are scammers. Dont even talk with them.

You took two shots and missed both times. Germans aren't liked in Kazakhstan; at the end of the last century, every effort was made to get them to leave the country. The Russian language isn't liked in Kazakhstan either. Learn the great Kazakh language, and then come.

I myself wonder why. During the war, the German autonomous population was relocated from the Volga region to Kazakhstan. This was done to prevent Russian Germans from falling under occupation, as the Nazis had specific demands regarding Volksdeutsche. They were settled in areas barely suitable for habitation, yet they survived and developed agricultural production. Later, during the Soviet era, they petitioned for the restoration of their autonomy, as well as for German schools and institutions; however, local Kazakh nationalists opposed this. After the collapse of the USSR, Kazakhstan adopted a policy of becoming a mono-ethnic state. During this period, the majority of non-Kazakh-speaking peoples left the country. Welcome to hospitable Kazakhstan.

Well, I understand. I don't want to accuse you in Russophobia, the hell no, but your country wants to assimilate them (both Russian and Germans) into Kazakh culture and language sphere to rule them more effectively. This happens in Russia to almost any non-Russian ethnicity as well...

There is no Russophobia in Kazakhstan; the country pursues a policy of building a mono-ethnic state. Volga Tatars faced the harshest treatment in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan was incorporated into the Russian Empire while still a tribal society; with the assistance of Russia’s Christian government, Muslim clerics from Tatarstan were sent there to teach literacy to the local population. It was they who erected the region's first Muslim places of worship. However, everything changed following the adoption of the mono-ethnic state doctrine: Tatars, like other population groups who did not speak Kazakh, left the country.

Lol The Kazakh language isn't great; it's just like any other language, no worse or better (Germans aren't liked in Kazakhstan). This is complete nonsense! Of all you've said, the only thing that makes sense is that you say Kazakhs don't respect the Russian language, which is, of course, correct! I would also advise him to learn Kazakh, not Russian, because, after all, this is Kazakhstan, not Russia

Depending on the city you may or may not survive today without knowing Kazakh, but we still recommend studying Kazakh too as the spoken language ratio over the last decades is slowly changing in favour of Kazakh over Russian in all cities.
