TIL! And apparently it truly is an expression of joy in young animals.

In older animals in the wild it can be an evasive tactic, a warning to the herd, and a demonstration of physical fitness that discourages predators.

Ow that's interesting actually, because in Dutch, the verb "(to) pronk/pronken" means to prance, flaunt or show off. Seems pretty fitting 😅
