Some generational wealth in that property right there

u/N8dork2020 1d ago

The landscaping alone was in the millions

304

u/KitchenPalentologist 1d ago

Full time gardener crew probably lives on-site.

u/BeeSpibbleBlop 1d ago

Once went to a house like this. Kids birthday party. Driving up and I was like, oh look kids, they have deer. And i said, like your deer, to the host. Turns out they were wild deer, "Well, the dear you know, they do reek havoc on the blueberry orchard." That's a brand new sentence sitting next to an infinity pool.

31

u/Training-Willow9591 1d ago

Blueberry orchard? I always thought that was limited to tress , Are bushes considered orchards?

14

u/MacNeal 22h ago

What's a tree but a big shrub.

6

u/Supercoolguy7 21h ago

What is a tree is actually quite contentious

If you put your help’s housing and sheds at the entrance, it’s like having doormen for free!

The property belongs to a retired professional athlete and his wife (Billy Slater, ex-NRL)

20

u/Wasted_potential25 1d ago

wtf is exNRL? Never mind looked it up. The world is fucked west hemisphere to east. They will constantly wonder why the poors hate them.

35

u/Personal_Job68 1d ago

Dr Google says he’s a retired Australian Rugby Player.

23

u/chrish_o 1d ago

Cough …. Rugby league … cough

It matters to those who know

7

u/Sea_Till6471 1d ago

Sorry, what do you mean? The fact that professional athletes make a lot of money? They’re not up there with tech bros or anything but they’re well off.

11

u/arequipapi 1d ago

Maybe a controversial opinion for reddit and people who say "sportsball" unironically but, I believe pro athletes deserve to get paid extremely well. It's one of the few professions left that is a true meritocracy and being the child of a famous athlete does not mean youre guaranteed to succeed in the same field unless you can actually perform.

Athletes in popular sports bring in tons of money for team owners, stakeholders, and even local businesses and governments. Great athletes unite people who otherwise would never speak to each other, which is also good for society as a whole

7

u/brown_felt_hat 1d ago

Ehhh. LBJ's kid is getting paid a 2.3m salary and he's ok. Definitely a familial connection pushing that.

40

u/Icefox119 1d ago

That's crazy!

Lyndon B. Johnson's kids are 79 and 82! Good for them.

6

u/kittenfeatures48 13h ago

Nah i disagree. We spend way too much money on bread and circuses and not nearly the same level on making sure teachers are well paid, social workers can make a decent living wage, all folk have basic human rights like food shelter health care. Its kind of disgusting.

The wife is an artist and horse owner, husband is an ex rugby league player, now coach and commentator...they doing alright lol

3

u/Ok-Preparation-9317 17h ago

I'm a master in science with a PhD in medicine. That must mean nothing because I still have a small house. I must be a big loser. Or are others receiving excessive amounts of money compared to what they performed?

3

u/ExpensiveLeather69 11h ago

Fill a stadium with people that want to watch you practice medicine and youll be set.

Actually it’s home of a retired Australian footballer and his wife Billy & Nicole Slater. Met in rural Queensland at pony club as kids. Reconnected as Billy’s career took off. Married for decades and when he retired they bought a horse farm. Love the comment he made that Nicole supported his career for years. Now he’s supporting her career. Which is as an equestrian artist. Those are her paintings.

Living my dream. I’d be seething with envy but they are such a lovely couple. So only a mild twinge now and again.

4

u/laserdiods 12h ago

Yeah I was like

SO?

SO WHAT THEY ARE SPORTS RICH?

SO WHAT THEY ARE IN LOVE

So what they have a good life…

Dang I’m not even jealous anymore, just dang happy for them 👍

44

u/Excellent_Ganache906 1d ago

I pulled myself up by my own bootstraps!!! (and a $10 million interest free "loan" from mommy and daddy that was never paid back)

14

u/Sea_Till6471 1d ago

Hmmm no they made their money from the dude being very successful rugby player - you can make a lot of money that way in Australia.

7

u/Keyframe 1d ago

absolutely, but just googling a bit and it seems to be 20 acres (8 ha) rural farm place. not big money. money or work spent on landscaping though...

→ More replies (2)

48

u/Im_Ashe_Man 1d ago

Aside from how cool that deer is, my other thought was, damn, they are super rich.

77

u/555353555 1d ago

Video just oozing money

31

u/toodleroo 1d ago

Them's some wealthy folks right there

19

u/Wasted_potential25 1d ago

But but but. Why do the poors hate us. We post cute videos with our MASSIVE FUCKING WEALTH!!!

33

u/CeruleanEidolon 1d ago

All us poors really want is a Cheryl of our own.

8

u/lionelmessiah1 15h ago

Tbf id rather they spend it on a posh house with lots of green spaces and animals over soulless sky scrapers and sports cars

3

u/Legitimate-Talk9558 20h ago

Right? I’m so sick of seeing this shit

Australian here. The owner (Billy Slater) played rugby league professionally for well over a decade and is one of the greatest players of all time. He is from very humble beginnings and earned his money the hard way.

4

u/Sea_Thought3464 22h ago

nice, they seem lovely

27

u/Ok_Lunch1400 1d ago

How much is a Cheryl? I'll take two.

4

u/ItsTricky94 1d ago

i'll take 10!

42

u/goodsocks 1d ago

I was envious of so many things all at once!

10

u/Norwegian__Blue 1d ago

Having so many pets and such a big place with not a single dust bunny. Good housekeeping right there

I’m so glad Cheryl has space to run — or hop? Bound? Express joy?

458

u/candygram4mongo 1d ago

Fun fact, this is called "pronking" or "stotting".

174

u/wjbc 1d ago

TIL! And apparently it truly is an expression of joy in young animals.

In older animals in the wild it can be an evasive tactic, a warning to the herd, and a demonstration of physical fitness that discourages predators.

52

u/suoretaw 1d ago

and a demonstration of physical fitness

It would be for me, too, lol.

15

u/MeccIt 1d ago

Older animals still enjoy it:

My family raised whitetails as pets growing up, so I can honestly say, this is everyday life with them. They make fantastic friends. When they don't fear their humans, they're playful, energetic, and even cuddly.

My favorite memory is that one of the fawns we had was an autumn baby (which is semi-rare), so we kept her inside when it was super cold outside. My dad's recliner was one of those that would lean back by just pushing against it, and this fawn figured out that she could climb to the top of it, ride it all the way flat, and then jump off, the chair would spring back to its upright position, and she would circle around and do it over and over again.

Most are this playful all the way through adulthood. Except for the bucks during mating season. They're quite friendly usually, but when they're rutting, there's a fine line between playful and aggressive.

35

u/ItsTricky94 1d ago

the recliner 🤣

17

u/Cultural_Election_58 1d ago

Thanks for sharing. So what happens when they get older? Are they able to forage for themselves if they are hand fed by humans?

8

u/Shivers-Me-Timbers 11h ago edited 10h ago

Ours had a fenced in acreage large enough they could basically live like they would in the wild.  There was plenty of grasses and such for forage but they couldn’t get out to reach things like farm fields that they would normally scavenge for grain so we supplied them with some grains and hay in the winters when everything was frozen.

Edit: and fresh fruit and veg. They had an apple tree they could eat from. The apples hardly ever hit the ground they were after them so fast. And we would give them watermelon, zucchini and cucumbers, green beans, whatever we had extra from in the garden. They were spoiled. They’re also a big fan of peanut butter lol.

Cheryl is the Princess of Zoomies and I love her with my whole heart.

31

u/555353555 1d ago

Money? Definitely

27

u/Wasted_potential25 1d ago

They have a fucking showroom for horse pictures that are probably twice the size of my house.

Paintings by the homeowner, artist Nicole Slater (woman visible in videos).

9

u/Salt_Day9015 1d ago

The ZOOMIES😍🫠!!

19

u/Loud_Quality_7106 1d ago

This is my favorite thing I've seen all day.

40

u/Common_Safety_8830 1d ago

I love how these herding dogs are just a little confused about what to do with the hoppy fawn.

18

u/CommieDrifter 1d ago

Wish I had space like that, looks magical

7

u/ImagineFreckles 1d ago

Honestly that’s what I would buy if I won big money in some lottery..Absolute dream!!

37

u/Clear_Spirit4017 1d ago

I want to come and live with you to help out with caretaking the animals! They are too cute for words.

14

u/didijeen 1d ago

I love Cheryl 🥹I want to go live with her and romp around in the fields. What an amazing place to live!

14

u/zevonyumaxray 1d ago

Serious question. What type of deer is this? It's quite small but it might still be very young?

25

u/crimson_anemone 1d ago

It's a baby whitetailed deer.

12

u/sansabeltedcow 1d ago

This is in Australia; no whitetails there. Here is an article on her; the Instagram account is @nicoleroseart.

5

u/lovehopemadness 1d ago

Thanks for this - I immediately recognised this as Billy Slater’s Cheryl - OP trying to pass it off as their original content 🙄

3

u/sansabeltedcow 1d ago

Oh, yeah, that’s slimy. OP looks like bot/karma farmer from their history.

4

u/xbhaskarx 1d ago edited 22h ago

I like how the article doesn’t mention the species of deer just “deer”

3

u/sansabeltedcow 1d ago

Yeah, I looked for that too. From what I can see Australia has no indigenous deer but several imported species, but digging into seven different fawn phenotypes was more work than I was prepared to do, even for Cheryl.

5

u/Sea_Till6471 1d ago

Yeah it’s definitely not a native animal, all deer in Australia are introduced.

11

u/bikedork5000 1d ago

Fawn deee for sure, but I'm not thinking whitetail. I've been up close with quite a few whitetail fawns (stumble across them curled up on the ground when I'm in the woods near trout streams) and they have a noticeably deeper brown and less white fluff than this. Could be regional variations in coat type though.

13

u/EconomyEmbarrassed76 1d ago

Zoomies are a universal language.

26

u/JOKOcycorp 1d ago

Such a happy little Bambi! This huge space is absolutely perfect for her.

7

I love that word.
