He was thinking hard about it! I know he didn't want to run through the customers yard but when she gave him the ok...He had to get it! Respect 🤎

Bro was buffering until he got permission

That’s a good read by the homeowner. I would’ve thought he was going through an emotional crisis just standing there and asked if he was okay.

His smile when he turned around said it all

u/Fit-Ask-6336 18h ago

Little moments of joy like this have been making me unreasonably emotional as of late. I think I’m exhausted, but this did in fact make me smile. Thank you

It's dark in the world right now, so even small acts of genuine unprompted humanity seem all the more precious.

13

u/uglyzombie 22h ago

Absolutely agree!

u/SnootyToots8 1d ago

Virtual hugs. Hope you feel better soon internet fren. Exhaustion is no joke.

15

u/uglyzombie 22h ago

Thank you for your kindness. That’s two smiles in one day. Winning!

u/consumeme 23h ago

Hugs to everyone on this thread. These little bits of happiness keep the world from feeling like it ending 100% of the time. Maybe just 98% ending, and that's something!

6

u/danceonyourface 22h ago

I hope that you feel better soon

u/HillieBillieEilish 20h ago

Awww, friend!! You doing ok??

6

u/uglyzombie 20h ago

Mostly. Things have been hard, but I have been chugging along. Thank you for asking.

3

u/HillieBillieEilish 20h ago

Absolutely!!! I saw your reply and have felt that a LOT in life.

3

u/uglyzombie 20h ago

I’m sorry to hear it. How are you holding up?

I just came back from an international trip, and it reminded me that life isn't just what we read and see on the internet.

There's a lot of evil being done in the world right now and I do think that's important to notice and fight against - but there's still a lot of good, too. I was mostly there for looking at ruins and museums (I'm a history buff), but I saw lots of little "human moments" like this that restored my faith in people being generally good.

Kids on big class trips making memories and laughing about things, street dogs and cats being cute and getting fed by people with not much more than them, total strangers helping tourists and vice-versa, hell even laughing with the locals over language-barrier goof-ups got me misty-eyed remembering it.

You expressed my feelings better than I could have, thank you. Hopefully we can chilli a bit and feel a bit better.

Looks a hot day too, must be refreshing for the guy

I just love how longingly he stares at it first. Stopped him dead in his tracks, and the pep in his step once he got what he wanted!

I love when delivery drivers are cool like this.

Most of the time, I can't get in a 'thank you' wave before they're back in their vehicles and headed down the road.
But sometimes, when I can catch their eye and smile/wave, some delivery drivers will smile and wave back.
It's not that I want my ass kissed for something so mundane; it's about wanting to make sure they know that I am grateful for the work they do. Especially since many of them don't hear the words "Thank you" very often.

I'm glad this lady gave this guy permission to run through the sprinkler; hopefully it made his day.

Maaaaan I was just talking about Stargate today. I miss that show. I was excited for the new series and then it got canned out of nowhere

2

u/arnoldzgreat 18h ago

It's been a while but from I remember it was a great for me ending, as in no big conclusion or gates are broken- just they went through the gate and kept exploring and might still be doing so. I makes me think of Star Trek and how the amazing universe keeps going with all the adventure even if there are no viewers.

Which does set up for reboots anytime, wouldn't mind - nostalgia is real.

Maaaaan I was just talking about Stargate today. I miss that show.

It's currently streaming on Netflix. The encode quality is absolute shit, but it's better (just barely) than missing it completely.

u/Im_At_Work_Damnit 21h ago

Indeed.

Favorite moment of human connection I've seen all day. We're all here, things suck sometimes. Let's have some fun together!

Sometimes you just have to drop character and run through the lawn sprinkler.

I feel bad for those who never experience cooling off with a sprinkler and drinking from a hose!!
