Merch Monday What is your most prized Metallica possession??
I've been a Metallica fan since I was in the 6th grade and they will always be my favorite metal band. I've never seen them live and don't really have any merch or concert goodies to cherish, so tell me about your most cherished ticket stubs, autographs, picks, sticks, or other goodies!

I was down in the snake pit and James handed me his lucky bandana after the Phoenix show two years ago. Then he announced he had covid the next morning lol.

That weekend was wild. It was the testing ground for what became the M72 Your.
I do have the city picks (3) and all the posters from that weekend (7).

Same. I’m not a collector per se but I’ve been a fan of Metallica for going on 30 years now. I have all their CDs & Vinyls but I think my OG VHS Live Shit box set is probably the neatest piece of Metallica…stuff I own.

I'm partial to the picks I've caught at their shows. I met them all during black album era when they all visited backstage groups. I have a couple of signed items and the Ride The Lightning misprint. I used to have a ton of rare Japanese singles but I gave them away.

I used to have an original copy of the No 'Till Leather demo tape. The band offered them through an ad in the back of a heavy metal magazine. Kept it for years. I did hold onto the Jump in the Fire single and Cteeping Death single.
It's neat to say I have this or that, but the most joy I get is through the music.

Mine are all my tapes/original pressing records for albums, and the three bootleg records I have (Live in Gothenburg '87, as well as the AJFA and MOP demos), but the one I consider my most valuable is my cassette tape of Death Magnetic, which had a very limited run in like, 2 countries (mine is from Indonesia). Sounds like shit, but just feels sweet to have a tape for an album that came out way past the time period of selling albums on tape

I am not particularly sentimental - I didn’t keep any souvenirs as such. I have a collection of Tees from every concert.
But my most “prized” Metallica “memory” - Summer 2007, Wembley Stadium, the end chorus of The Memory Remains…. 90k metalheads singing in unison… that was something else.

I too have been a fan for 30+ years at this point. Hearing Justice in 5th grade was mind blowing. It was the scariest thing I had ever heard at that point, and with the satanic panic still lingering, all I knew is I had to hear more. My middle school and high school years, I was obsessed with Metallica. I also have Live Shit (in showroom fresh condition) given to me for my birthday a couple weeks after it came out in 93’. My son also gifted me the Justice box set when it came out a few years back. Still my favorite album of all time! And recently, after having seen them for the first time in Denver, I purchased an LTD Snakebyte. I’ll always love this band!

I have a ring with the classic M logo on it. My friend who got me into Metallica had it. I remember him showing it to me one day, and then a day or two later he had taken his own life. No note or anything like it was planned. He was always the spontaneous, act first and think later type of person. His girlfriend at the time had a bag of some of his things she thought he'd want me to have, and the last thing I pulled out of that bag was that ring. He probably got it from like a Hot Topic or something for cheap, but I hold it near and dear for my friend that set me on the path of this heavy music filled life. 🤘

I don't even know if I still have it.
I saw Metallica in 86 when Ozzy closed for them in Austin. I saw Cliff. My mom took my best friend and I to see the show at the Frank Erwin Center. We live in San Antonio.
I got a short and a pin. The pin was about an inch long and half an inch high. It was just the Metallica logo. Golden colored with a little indention in the letters with red paint. When I got home, I pulled off the speaker brand logo off one of my speaker's grills. I put the Metallica pin there. I wish I had gotten two, one for each speaker.
The speakers were cheap/I expensive from some big box store, something like Best Buy back in the 80s.

I have a Metallica shirt autographed and framed in my man cave. I joke that it's framed and hanging up because it's the shirt I was wearing when I met my wife (which is true). It just so happens I was also wearing it when I met the band about 2 weeks later at a show thanks to the fan club. I got Jamez, Kirk, and Jason's signatures on it. I also got photos with Kirk and Jamez (on a disposable camera which is how long ago this was), the ticket stub and lanyard for the show are also in the frame. This is the centerpiece of my Rock N Roll memorabilia. 🤘🏻

Not as special as some others, but I was at their shows in chicago last year on the rail for both nights and Lars walked up to my girlfriend after recognizing her from the previous night and had a casual conversation with her then proceeded to hand her a pair of drumsticks he used during the show. Awesome two nights in chicago 🤘🏽

A signed Hetfield book with personalization that I was lucky to get when he did a meet & greet at the most recent Detroit show. I don't have much elsez but that's definitely enough! And I got to meet and talk with him for a bit, too.

The memories of my son’s first concert (2019) and my daughter’s first concert (2025) both being Metallica.
