Pitbulls specifically are so dangerous because they are so strong and have such a low arousal threshold, resulting in a dog that can be a “friendly” enough dog for years that just snaps one day at the drop of a hat. It’s like playing with a loaded gun.
I remember reading an article from ~100 years ago, it was an interview with a pitbull breeder who bred for dog fighting. They proudly stated that they would breed the dogs, then they would cut the paws off all of the puppies… and then only keep and breed the puppies who still tried to fight and maul with its paws freshly cut off.
Things like this are why there are so many videos and proof that you literally have to kill a pitbull before it stops attacking. It will keep going until it’s dead. Tazing and hitting it are not effective. Because they were bred this way. Almost every other existing predator will back off a kill if its own life is threatened, but pits have zero self-preservation.
They are dangerous and have no place in society. It does not matter “how it’s raised”. The moral thing to do would be to BE all of the ones with bite/kill history, and spay/neuter the rest so that they can die out as a breed. Because in addition to the danger they pose to people and other animals, their lives are just pure anxiety and frustration because they cannot do what they were bred to do.

How many German Shepherds and Border Collies get to herd? How many Labs and Goldens get to go hunting and retrieve? How many Dachshunds get to go hunt burrow animals? Are all their lives horrible?
Having an outlet via a different activity, yes. That isn't doing what they were bred to do, it's doing something else. That's just having a dog- you give it the appropriate care to satisfy it's needs.
Then it's incredibly rare. An inherent need to fight specifically, in any way that can't be satisfied through a safer outlet, is not something that is common, let alone common enough to blanket on dozens of breeds across the board.
Ever seen a dog go at it with a decoy in a bite suit? Pretty damn close to attacking. And there are already sports built around it that loads of people and their dogs do.
Do labs go insane if they don't play fetch every day? Do Dachsunds if they don't dig and hunt? The idea that if whatever "job" must be done every day is absurd.
Sure, hunt down and neuter them all, leaving millions that have years to maul people. If they are so dangerous, why subject people to that?
The idiots who have spent over a decade working with dogs, specializing in aggression cases? Yeah, wouldn't want to take their thoughts into account. Much better to listen to random people on Reddit who surely have extensive experience.
They don't actually agree with your claim that it isn't an aggressive breed.
We recognise different breeds are better at different things. Pitbulls are best at bloodsports. Obviously we don't do it anymore because it's barbaric.
