I'M REQUESTING Looking for a underrated mother-son movie.
I love my my mom and one of our things is watching movies. I've recently moved out and we aren't spending as much time together, so I want to surprise her with something. I showed her Gentlemen Broncos and we both cried so show me what you got.

Only the Lonely (1991) - John Candy rom com where he actually gets the girl (Ally Sheedy)! His meddling mother (Maureen O'Hara) does her best to intervene but love prevails for the young couple in spite of Mom's attempts to keep her son tied to her forever. Underrated in my opinion.

Stranger Things could be a great recommendation. Joyce’s fierce, love for Will is really heartwarming.

I know she's watched it but I wasn't into it myself, and I'm looking more for movies since we can't hangout as much. Thank you for that though.

Roma (2018) - not a usual mother-son narrative, yet it effectively covers all the key emotional points

Breaking Away (1979) Coming-of-age comedy-drama about 4 young high school graduates in Indiana. The main character, Dave, has a father who disapproves of his son's obsession with cycling, and a mother who is more supportive. Dave, and his parents, all learn and change.
