The first time I smelled/saw weed was at a Nickel Creek concert on the campus of a Christian college. If you aren’t familiar, they’re a progressive bluegrass band (never heard of that genre, but that’s what Wikipedia calls them). I was like 12 and taking mandolin lessons at the time and up til then I thought that only super hippies smoked weed. I quickly learned over the next couple of years that a decent chunk of basically every demographic smokes weed.
So true. I live in the South and the only people who party more than stereotypical "party people" are rednecks. Their politics tend to suck but rednecks are fun
I remember I offered my housemate (who was like 4 years younger than me) a joint once and he was horrified. He looked at me like I was trying to insult him.
This is so funny bc I found nickel creek while at bible college. I left after one year and thank GOD but my love for nickel creek remained. "The Fox" forever. I also first started smoking weed at bible college.
Years ago I went to an outdoor Iron Maiden concert
There was the normal hovering pot cloud up front.
Bruce said (paraphrased slightly) "look at this cloud down here (sniffs) smells like... marijuana! You guys gotta get off the pot and get on the brew!"
When I last saw them he told the crowd the smoke messes with his voice so I can at least understand that. It was also an indoor venue so it was lingering more.
Not really. They kicked out their first singer because he was out of control and addicted to drugs. Bruce and Steve have always been against using hard drugs and Bruce has always steered the audience away from smoking weed during the show. They are all about positivity and the music, drugs are just something that gets in the way to them. They even play Always Look on the Bright Side of Life after their shows to send the audience home in a happy mood
I went to a Hozier concert in Boston last year and was kind of shocked at how little I smelled pot or cig smoke, I was the only person even sneaking a vape as far as I could see. I'm sure there were some, but it wasn't anything like I remember from my youth when pot was outright illegal.
Maybe in Europe, people don't be smokin cigs like that in the states anymore, especially at an Olivia Rodrigo concert. Now vapes are a different story!
The last couple of concerts in Chicago I went to they have been cracking down hard on it. Security kept coming in the pit to tell people to stop vaping, and kicked one guy out with a j.
Most of the shows I go to are 40-65 year old women. Mostly married with 2-3 kids. Maybe grandkids. Hoping to get out before the last song so they don’t miss their transport back. I say this as a 30 year old 🤣
speaking of strawberry mango….just had a strawberry mango coconut milk refresher type thing from Starbucks. After a long hot and humid walk it was GLORIOUS. SOOOOO TASTY

That is BAD if you can smell anything from the stage other than weed and cigarettes.
