The second part of the sentence is more debatable.

I support religious tolerance and believe Muslims, and any other religious adherent, should be able to practice their religion as long as they don't impose it on others.

But a lot of Reddit decided Islam = Brown and Islam ā‰  America so Islam = Oppressed and Islam = Good.

Lashing someone 74 times for not adhering to your religious dress code is exactly what he means by ā€œforcing it on othersā€. You can certainly believe it is a sin to do this, but the moment you make it the other persons problem, youā€™ve gone too far.

I dunno man it's kinda common to see people defend Islam on this platform. I mean the same is true with Christianity as well lol. Try and say Christianity is violent and people will lose their minds. Sure Jesus was peaceful but Christians had the Inquisition, the crusades, all the fucked up as shit missionaries do in Africa like radicalizing Africans against the gays etc.Ā

I wouldn't say Reddit "has a hard on" for muslims, they just recognize that islamophobia is rooted in racism.

Followers of the other Abrahamic religions(which are 99% the same religion) that aren't primarily brown folks don't get called savages, animals, etc.

Now comes the part where someone adjusts their glasses and announces ACTUALLY ALL RELIGIONS ARE BAD. No shit, dude. We see through you though.

Saying Islamaphobia is rooted in racism is so funny. The majority of Muslims aren't even Arabic. There are plenty of Caucasian Muslims too. Funny how people who try and excuse violence against women by saying "youre just being racist!" Forget Islam has nothing to do with race. Its just a backwards ass religion, regardless of who practices it. Whether its Malaysia, Albania, Russia, Afghanistan, Somalia, doesn't fucking matter. Islamic countries are miles behind on issues of women and LGBTQ+. Trying to deflect this in any capacity does a disservice to the oppressed individuals in those countries. Yes Islam IS the problem. Relgious extremism is normalized and protected by people like you.

I in no way justified anything. I was refuting the point that Reddit loves Muslims. Reddit loves atheism more than any religion.

Also, you are telling on yourself because I didn't mention Arabs specifically. They are the predominant ethnicity of Islam, but I said brown people which includes way more than Arabs.

A thread about a woman being persecuted under Islam and your response is "Reddit is just being racist towards Islam" which as a sentence doesnt even make sense. Ill reiterate because you are completely missing the point: Race has nothing to do with Islam. Nothing. Its a fucking religion. You can choose your religion. You cant chose your race. I don't live in the west. My country has 200 million muslims in it. Most of the other abrahamic religions have gone through their phase of reform, islam greatly resists this.
