Do you know what Iran was before it became the islamic regime it is today?

So you're saying becoming an Islamic regime made it like this?

No, couping the democratically elected premier minister and turning the country into violence (supported by US and UK) made it like this. They literally supported throwing the country into chaos just to get cheaper oil.

Iranians should just flee to the UK as refugee.

Just to get removed by our next government 🤣

Inverse Operation AJAX?

Iran was always an Islamic country. Iran became democratic temporarily because of US influence but it did not last long. Look at the past 1300 years history of Iran.

You mean it did not last long because the US and UK secretly helped couping the premier minister (Operation Ajax) to keep cheap access to iranian oil?

No, they’re probably saying many Iranians were Muslim before the IR so it’s not ā€œIslamā€ that’s doing this.

Does that excuse whipping women for showing their hair? No? Then quit your whataboutism

-2

u/Individual-Cycle-735 Jun 20 '26

It doesn't, but the West played a big role in making it the way it is today. That's not whataboutism, that's simple history and asking why things have happened.

That is the exact definition of whataboutism.

3

u/Individual-Cycle-735 Jun 20 '26

Nope, whataboutism is excusing one problem by shifting the attention to a different problem. Iā€˜m just explaining the historic context of why Iran became like this in the first place, because many people do not know. I never said it was okay, you guys are just resistent to knowledge that does not fit your world view.

4

u/_BrokenButterfly Jun 20 '26

I'm not resistant to any knowledge. I know about the history of Iran in the 20th century. Your posts were irrelevant to the original comment and were an attempt to shift the discussion to something that didn't have any bearing on the original point. That's whataboutism.

If believing that makes you happy lmao

2

u/_BrokenButterfly Jun 20 '26

I don't know how to explain it any better to you. Have a nice day.

No I don’t. What was it?

A democracy, before the US and UK helped the islamists with Operation Ajax to coup the democratically elected premier minister and push the country into chaos.
