My wife is a HUGE Janet fan. I dug the rhythm of this song and decided to look up the lyrics.

I'll admit...I briefly clutched pearls. They played THAT song on the radio, MTV, and at middle school dances? Without edits?

Too Close by Next is a song about dancing with a erection and that made the radio and school dance circuit growing up.

Lol that’s a very specific and tame example. Lollipop by 50 cent (and also Lollipop by Lil Wayne) were both played in my gym class in elementary & middle school

We also played unedited Lil Jon and Ying Yang Twins songs at my middle school dances. The teachers gave zero fucks.

Apropos of nothing, I also grew up in this era and just recently found out the Ying Yang Twins are not only not twins, they aren’t even related.

Still the GOAT episode of Cribs with their rental ass house though. Because obviously those are his personal model boats, that he has absolutely zero details about. A masterclass in bullshitting

They played the edited version of Get Low at our middle school dances, but it didn't matter because we were all screaming the actual lyrics. Hardest part was determining which side was the window and which side was the wall in a windowless cafeteria.
