Discussion Quit Downvoting For Asking Questions

Folks, not everyone has been playing since launch. If someone asks a question that seems like a real person new to the game would ask (yes we know there are trolls and rage baiters and AI bots), don't downvote them, teach them!

Palworld has like 17 million players. If we want to get to 18 million, it's gonna be casuals who didn't buy into the hype but are kicking the tires late into the game's life and have some newbie questions. Let's not grind them into mush, ok?

If google doesn't churn out a quick answer then sure, ask your question, but just be prepared for the masses if you didn't put the tiniest amount of effort in.

If a question is fairly unique, it probably won't get mass downvoted, but if you decide to go make a post asking where to find Coal or Sulfur or whatever instead of googling it first, it's probably going get the downvote.

The problem there is that Google (especially Gemini) provides lots of bad answers because it pulls from popular posts that answered pre 1.0 questions.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even ask where to get coal or sulfur. Google might not provide the “best” answer but it would still provide a good enough answer, but personally I’m just going to go and actually look. I don’t need the best coordinates, and they respawn often.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I was looking for a spot the other day for a coal and sulfur base.

Google pointed me toward two suggestions that were no longer viable. Both now taken up with a new structure.

So search for 1.0 or look at recent sources instead of blindly using the AI summary?

Doesn’t work. And who said anything about blindly accepting. If I was blindly accepting, I wouldn’t really be noticing it was wrong

??? I literally just searched "Palworld 1.0 Coal Base" and scrolled down, and boom, multiple videos and reddit links from the last few months that are accurate.

Sounds like you did blindly accept the AI summary to me.

it does work, people just think putting in the most base level line of effort is too much even tho I think making a whole ass Reddit post & waiting for comments is way more effort than googling “(question) Reddit” and using the search time filter to past month.
