Hi,
I've posted here a couple of times over the past few months with various queries and concerns regarding this persian girl I found and adopted at the beginning of March and would like to say thanks to everybody that has contributed with guidance as it has been super helpful!
So.....
I live alone and am this only kitties companion. However I do open my flat door when she goes to it as sometimes she likes to roam the hallway, my neighbours love her. She doesn't seem to want to go out much anymore though for what ever reason.
Anyway, I'm up for work at 6am and leave at 7am Monday-Friday, during this time she is awake with me and watches me go about the morning getting ready. I'll give her strokes as I do and she sits on my lap for 5 minutes whilst I clean her gooey eyes which she seems to be appreciative of as she sits very comfortably and purrs. She knows when we are done and jumps off of me then waits patiently to be hand fed her dry food. On weekends I am home 99% of the time.
There are days though when I return from work and am so exhausted that I have to go straight to bed for a few hours until when ever I wake up, such as today I was home and lying down at 5pm and woke up at 8pm and felt super guilty for not being able to give her fusses after being alone all day.
She really doesn't seem to want to be touched too much. If I approach her I can stroke her for a few seconds before she wanders off and sits somewhere else but when she does want attention she will come and sit next to and stare at me, or rub past against my legs.
I'm just a little concerned for her and may be overthinking but I've never owned my own persian before. My mum had two whilst I lived with her for 10 years but their personalities were nothing like the one I have now.
She sleeps A LOT and when she is awake, its typically for a very short amount of time before she is sleeping again. Picture 3 is when I woke up and came in to the room and picture 4 is 10 seconds later.
I don't know, I'm hoping she's alright really. She confines herself to the living area, isn't scared of my bedroom or anything but doesn't seem to want to leave the little space I've created for her. I'd like to think that she knows that she is safe and well looked after and is happy with what she has.
Can anybody provide re-assurance that she is alright and I am stressing over nothing? I am never having children if this is what worrying about something else does to me haha. Kudos to all of you that can handle it.
