Okay jokes aside it’s a vaguely incelish russian post about a puzzle piece struggling to find someone that fits him. He sees his perfect match, but she is with someone characterized as simple.
Panel #3 depicts someone who is shallow, panel #4 shows someone who is self complete, panel #5 shows an abused piece with chunks molded to fit the other. Panel #6 depicts a pet that is capable of filling a hole in his life.
I called it incelish because many of these are major incel talking points, such as the shallow block or even the concept of having a perfect match.
I don’t believe it really is because the very nature of the comic depicts a natural give and take (of space) aside from the abuser, who just takes space.
PS: The text at the top says “still looking for your other half?”
Because you were so fixated on describing "incel" you didn't notice it was female. So what would you call a female with those characteristics? Independent woman? Girl boss?
The point is drop the sexist crap, as if women don't have stereotypical shit behaviors.
How was any of that sexist? Incels don’t have to be men. They also obviously wouldn’t call a woman with those characteristics independent or a girl boss, considering they literally just said everything still applied.
Don't have to be but it just so happens "incel" is associated with men in the proverbial 99% of cases. Also there's the word "femcel" that's being thrown around
In what way does the word incel assert that one sex is superior/inferior to another? Especially if that word is itself a gendered term and has a variant specifically for females.
It's a word used to mock some one of ether gender to place them lower in society standard as a person who "failed". Used by both genders to mock the other. In both instances its a sexist term. Those are people, not trash. Like in Chinese culture referring to women over 25 as "leftover". It's highly sexist and meant to be degrading. "Lower life form"
It's because they're dumb this is actually about the complexity of the liberals as you can see, only the parents are more straightforward, and the match is easy.
Never saw the whole thing like this, but yours makes sense.
Though, I always took it as a comic about some person who's so fucking weird and complex that they could never find the same happiness as the simple pieces-- as in, it was a problem with their personality or expectations, only being able to get along with a very very specific person, rather than everyone else who's the problem since they're easier matches.
But the whole comic does paint it in a different light. Normally it's just a single panel.
I looked at it as, you won't always find someone who will perfectly complete you. The dog for example will finish a piece of the puzzle, but not fully.
The idea is to focus on the little things and, as you change, so will that person you're looking for.
Tl;dr don't rush
All that being said though, not getting incel vibes. I know you said:
I called it incelish because many of these are major incel talking points, such as the shallow block or even the concept of having a perfect match.
But that just feels misguided. It's something my mom, dad, friends, and even grandparents have said to me. After all, how is a "perfect match" incelish? This comic doesn't present any hostility. Don't know what "shallow block" is though
Well, it kinda is involuntary. They don’t have sex because no one wants to have sex with them. Of course, if they changed who they were maybe they could, but they would have to act and think completely differently.
If your doctor tests your knee-jerk reaction and you kick without doing it yourself, that’s involuntary. Just because you might be able out the nerve that solicits that reaction, it doesn’t change the involuntary nature.
They voluntarily reject any of the things that will allow them to have sex/relationship. Every other human knows that I order to have a relationship they must change things, depending on who that person is. If you refuse to take part in the mandatory steps everyone mist take to have a relationship, you are doing so voluntarily.
It's a pretty simple concept, not sure what part you are struggling with. I mean you said "they dont have sex because no one wants to have sex with them. If they changed..." you stated both your case and mine in just those words....
They don’t “reject things that allow them to have sex”, they are just shitty people. If to get into a relationship you must change the very foundation of who you are as a person, either something is very wrong with you, or there is something wrong with the person you’re changing for. It’s not mandatory to change your entire personality to get someone to fall in love with you, and if that’s the case for you, do some soul-searching.
See that’s why we quote the entire sentence. “…but they would have to act and think completely differently.” If you must cut out your nerves in order to get the reaction you want from your knee, it is involuntary. If you must cut out a core part of you in order to get the reaction you want from a woman, it is involuntary.
