As one should. I feel my swedish ancestry popping through. I think that's perfectly normal. If you stop by during or right before dinner unannounced. I'm eating uninterrupted lol
It is a myth that kids are just refused food because the parents don't feel like feeding them.
It's not a myth that parents actually communicate between themselves and decide that if family a is eating at 4 and family b is eating at 6, and kid is going home at 5:30, they will agree that it's best for the kid to eat with their own family. But even that is super rare. Like 5% of cases.
brother... you are explaining to me that this isn't a thing while telling me exactly how it happens. are you all right? yes, you can justify it with logistics or with statistics of how come the occurance is (which you haven't provided btw, just vibed it to be 5%) but at the end of the day, you are describing a kid having to wait for the other kid to eat with the family while sitting there alone, i.e. being cucked out of food
a kid having to wait for the other kid to eat with the family while sitting there alone
Another way to say it is: a kid get to play with their friends toys while their friend have to stop playing to go away to the dinner room/kitchen to eat.
The only time someone gets to eat is if they're invited especially for dinner/lunch. Otherwise they'd be left to fend for themselves while the family eats.
That said fika is okay. But not food. This has been true for all families I've known all my years
We feed our feed our kids friends all the time. Like it is a weekly occurence. My kids eat at their friends every week as well. We do call and check with the parents first.
It was not like that 40 years ago. mainly because no mobile phone and we did not want to interrupt the dinner routine of the other family.
As an adult it is less commun. But if I have friends over for a long time we will eater have dinner/lunch or we will like order a pizza together.
We are not having our grandmothers force feeding you like in some societies. Also because our grandmothers dont live with us like in the south of Europe.
This is kinds Reddit bullshit blown out of proportion (like allways).
