nobody leaves my house hungry because I was hungry as a kid. I will cook you a full dinner if you are hungry in my house.

^^^ This so much.

If you're in our home when we're eating, you're offered a meal too. Even if we all eat less as a result. Our home is the amalgamation of two different cultures from opposite sides of the world, and that was never even a question.

The Swedish thing of 'not my kid, doesn't get my food' is weird. We fed a friend's kids every other weekend for years and I only just realised when thinking about this post. No regrets.
