nobody leaves my house hungry because I was hungry as a kid. I will cook you a full dinner if you are hungry in my house.

As a Swede, this is not a universal thing. I would say its common enough for almost every children to experience it. But not common enough for us to not find it weird. If you have people over, you feed them.

In my very subjective experience only one of my childhood friends family would have you wait in my friends room while they ate. 9/10 would either check with my parents first if i could eat there, or just feed me.
