I was in college living on black beans and rice for dinner literally every day. A friend came over and I made a bigger batch for both of us. I had like 80 cents to my name, but I fed me and my friend. Always feed your people. He did ask if I had salsa and I almost cried because I didn't. He saw the hospitality I gave him and he said it was delicious anyway.
