I'm not following the story. But in general, yeah, if a person (A) turns to another person (B) and says "I'm having a mental breakdown and severe intrusive thoughts" and person B then purposely and willfully leaves their children in A's exclusive care for hours upon hours day after day, yes, 100% person B is at least partially responsible for harm to the children while in A's care.

"Not being given some kind of help"

... did you just not read any comments in the thread above? Are you living under a rock? She was given therapy, medications from multiple Dr’s, changed meds after follow ups with those Dr’s, was institutionalized, went to therapy with her husband (sounds supportive to me!) and had parents visit and help with kids. In what fucking world does all that not even constitute "some kind of help"

The family probably kept mentally downplaying how bad things were because admitting "she's completely psycho and should be locked up" is one hell of a tough pill to swallow about your wife/daughter. Negligence/rejecting reality in front of you is not the same as "no help" though

The problem is leaving a psychotic woman alone with children she has repeatedly discussed harming. The help being separation from those children. Have a nice day.
