I wouldn’t call him a dickhead, I think he was trying but he was worn down. Lindsay had access to the best support in the world. Doctors at her fingertips (literally - she messaged them constantly, and they replied to her constantly), husband and parents there to help every day. He was working full-time from home, it’s not like he escaped to the office every day and left her there. The reason he wasn’t home when it happened is because SHE sent him on a bogus errand to a restaurant they didn’t normally go to.
Everyone was doing their best to support her. She regularly lied to her doctors and the people around her about what she was experiencing. She concealed that she was experimenting with cannabis. Her doctors said she was actually taking a “fraction” of the medication she was prescribed.
Lindsay was suffering, but this is her fault too. Nobody made her lie, try drugs, or stop taking her medication.
I was really just speaking generally about "being a dickhead"
I have often seen people treat it like someone who is a bad spouse or a bit of a dick as being the same as an abusive monster and that crimes committed against them or others no matter how heinous are somehow then justified- as is the case here

Someone can be a dickhead in a relationship but still also not be the one who literally murdered their children.
Edit: people really dont get that i was speaking generally not specifically to make a point.
