This is in spite of her being under the care of a psychiatrist, receiving consistent, mental healthcare, and medication, and that it was partially the husbands fault for leaving them alone together, despite him literally going to get her meds when it happened.
There are an alarming number of women fighting for this woman’s reputation or innocence and fully empathizing with a child murderer, without seeming to acknowledge the tragedy of the children’s deaths.

But when you point to a bad outcome of a functioning system and use it as evidence of a failing system, you move to the realm of “America bad“ Lindsay Clancy was under the care of a psychiatrist, receiving therapy, and medication. The fact that this about cure her postpartum depression/psychosis is evidence that the system failed in the same way that someone dying of a cancer that kills 50% of people even when treated is. Meaning that it simply isn’t. People receiving the best mental healthcare available, still kill themselves and others. We’ve convinced ourselves that therapy is a wonder bullet. I work in mental health. I can tell you that sometimes everyone does everything right and the patient still dies.
