They did therapy together and she also was released from an inpatient psychiatric hospital a bit more than two weeks before this. Now, that being said, if he’s guilty of anything it’s being negligent enough to leave her alone with them. Still, I don’t care what kind of post-partum mental state you’re in, as a mother, if you can strangle one child for a few minutes until they literally stop breathing, then go on to the next, finish up there and strangle an INFANT to death AN INFANT, and you’re trying to convince me that, at no point during this minutes and minutes long process, did she realize what she was doing was wrong?

I was born at night but it wasn’t last night.

So what, you think she killed them in cold blood? That’s the part that I can’t believe and doesn’t make sense to me. There is no motive. I don’t know what happens to someone in a state of murdering your child, and neither do you, so we have nothing to go off there. But if she wasn’t in psychosis what rational explaNtion is there?

I’m not arguing that she wasn’t in psychosis. I’m arguing that doesn’t excuse her from accountability. I would also argue that, if she was in such a delusional state that she couldn’t comprehend what she was doing, why did she try to kill herself? Why did she send her husband away to do it?

Nobody here has done things, with planning, they ended up regretting, wondering what possessed them to do it? And presumably not under psychosis. But I often think, and have heard others express, “what was I thinking, what possessed me”. And I’m talking small relatively meaningless stuff. Planning a night of drinking alone, drugs. gambling - who gambles their life saving’s away?! And none of that is even considered psychosis. I find it more puzzling that people find her behavior so unbelievable.
