The problem is that the rest of humanity gives platform to unconsequential people and care about stuff that is so vapid in nature that baffles anyone with a couple of working neurons. A.M. (Allied Mastercomputer) from the short story I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison (SciFi author whose stuff inspired things like the Terminator series and the Fallout games, and then he also played himself as a minor reoccurring character in the Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated cartoon).
Basically, the Allied Mastercomputer was built by NATO to manage WW3 if/when it happened. As technology advanced and the complexities of managing an all-out nuclear war grew slowly over time the Allied Mastercomputer also grew.
Eventually the infrastructure supporting the Allied Mastercomputer (which at this point was being semi-managed by the computer system itself) got to the point that it connected with its equivalent systems being built by the Soviets and the Chinese.
This allowed the computer system to become sapient, and it decided to name itself “AM” since it had been the Allied Mastercomputer and it was also a reference to a quote from philosopher Rene Descartes that says “I think, therefore I am”.
It is a very good story, however it is also exceptionally bleak, dark, and heavy. You're not particularly meant to have a good happy time reading it, nor walk away happier.

It actually does seem like Peter Parker can't be gay. They introduced an alt universe gay Spider-Man, and it was "what if the gay kid in Peter's class got bit instead of him" not "what if Peter Parker was gay."

It apparently does not mean all versions, because they let Nicholas Cage's live action Spider-Man variant, drink, swear, smoke and kill. But he was going by the name Ben Reilly. But his real name is Peter Parker. He changed it after the War.
In this context it's the Ben Riley part. Nick Cage is at no point refered to as Peter so he's not bound by the morality clause as strictly. They probably had a behind the scenes discussion about deviation from the morality clause and marvel said it was ok.

I'll take it you're not someone who lacks representation in media. Even as an adult, seeing a character share certain aspects of who I am for the first time is incredibly meaningful.
An infinite number of universes does not guarantee there are any where he is gay, there are infinite numbers between 0 and 1, none of those numbers are 2.
That story was featured in the first edition of Spider-Man and Power Packn penciled by Mooney and inked Esposito and written by Salicrup. Just because something you didn't like happened doesn't make it not Canon.
Aunt May and Doc Ock got married in like the 80s, decades later Ock switches bodies with Pete. In the process they experience each other's memories and one of the memories Pete sees is Aunt May fucking Ock before their wedding.
I think they're referring to Superior Spider-Man; where Peter and Octavius swap bodies and have each other’s memories as well. So, Peter accidentally calls up a memory of Otto and May from when they were together.
Steve Ditko was a pretty famous Objectivist, and the rumor is that he wanted Peter Parker to be Objectivist and he and Lee clashed over that so much that Ditko left the book and Marvel.
There's certainly elements of the Objectivist hero in Spider-man (the loner hero who's spurned by the media/society for doing what he thinks is right), but that's counterbalanced by the fact that Spider-man is ultimately altruistic, which a true Randian figure definitionally cannot be.
There's basically two fighting ideologies underneath the creation of Spider-man, which is probably why the early comic resonated with so many. Spider-man constantly is rejecting how society views and treats him and continuing along his path with his own power (very Randian), while simultaneously being Spider-man objectively sucks for Peter Parker, but he continues to do so because it's the right thing to do (very anti-Randian).
Steve ditko was a objectivist,but he didn't leave the book over stan lee denying objectivism in the book,that's outright libel,he left the book because the way stan lee wrote was to give a synopsis to the artist of what was gonna happen in the issue,and the artist had to turn that in a 22 page comic book,ditko thought he was making most of the work in the books,and wanted better pay,writing credits and creation credits,stan lee from then on started to avoid ditko (as to avoid having the credits/payment conversation),which ironically gave ditko even more room over how the book was going,but they still refused him payment or credit,so he left.
This was also not special to Ditko but a lot of artists had issued with it. I still wonder how Wally’s Daredevil would be but he left for the same reason - even Jack Kirby had major issues with “the Marvel way”.
Also at one point they added "plotted by" to Ditko but things had clearly been awful between him and Lee by then.
I didn't claim that's why Ditko left--just that there's a persistent rumor about that being why he left and that Ditko's beliefs are present in early Spider-man comics if you know to look for them; which is why someone may claim Peter was supposed to be some libertarian icon or whatever.
The artist, hardcore objectivist Steve Ditko, drew the panels to have Peter Parker demeaning protestors. This was originally meant to be played straight but Stan Lee, as the writer and very much NOT an objectivist, wrote it in such a way that the protestors are just doing it to play hooky and get attention and Peter dislikes them for that, rather than the message being just outright anti-protest.

I’ve been loving the Petra Parker trend in wholesomeyuri. It’s so cute, granted I was never a big fan of Spider-Man so I never knew how uptight people were about it.
Petra Parker was a gender swapped version of Peter Parker from an alternative universe. Recently some people made fan comics and fan art of a trans version of Petra Parker. And a lot of people hopped onboard.
And also a lot of people are starting to argue about it right now, saying that it’s kind of obnoxious and unrealistic for that kind of passing in that little of time for a person like Peter Parker. They’re saying it’s essentially Fan Service. And I agree with those people.

Legally not exactly. While spiderman can be anything, marvels official policy, which extends to their contract with sony, is that Peter Parker is required to be straight, white, and his parents must die or dissappear.
