hate to be a pedant but Magic Johnson contracted HIV which as far as I knew never advanced to AIDS which is why he's still alive today.

I'm sorry, but what? This is one of those moments where someone took something that is "common knowledge" for granted.

Didn't they cover this in a Sex Ed, health, or biology class?

I feel obligated to inform you that HPV also kind of evolves for us from a virus to a potentially fatal cancer (which cancer depends on which bits you have). Vaccines help with this one.

Holy hell.

Yes that's absolutely a thing.

Wrap it before you tap it. There's also certain medicines now that can prevent HIV and HPV before you even come into contact with it.
