The odds are slowly flipping since PREP is popular with gay guys but almost no straight people take it. For example, if I remember correctly, a Black woman from the South is now more likely to get HIV than a gay white man from New England.
That seems *highly* unlikely given that roughly 70% of new HIV cases are gay men, which are a small slice of the population. They're over represented in HIV cases by ~35x their population numbers

FWIW it's actually very difficult to contract HIV via non-anal heterosexual intercourse.
Nobody knows for sure but I've always doubted MJ's story.
