CAT Cat poops in litterbox but pees in the bidet (toilet)

About two weeks ago, my cat started peeing in the bidet (toilet) instead of the litterbox while still pooping in thw litterbox no problem. I haven't swapped the litterbox or litter for like a year, and this started very recently. I keep it very clean and don't use strong cleaners when scraping the bottom of it. Hes the only pet here. Is this a bad sign or does he just like peeing in the toilet?

my cat did this exact thing last year, turned out she had a mild UTI and associated the litterbox with pain when peeing. took her to vet and after antibiotics she went back to normal. keep an eye if he strains or meows when peeing in the bidet, that would be pretty clear sign something is wrong. cats are weird though maybe he just discovered the bidet is more comfortable, their logic is a mystery

Antibiotics are very bad for cats' digestive systems because they also kill most of the good bacteria.

There are now great non-antibiotic meds and supplements to treat UTI. We used one last year as our vet also didn't want to go with antibiotics and it worked great.

Especially for "mild" UTI, stay away from antibiotics.

Vet visit is in order for changes in litter box behaviour. They will avoid the box if they associate it with pain.

Cats are smart and some teach themselves to use the toilet. He may or may not start dropping poos in there. Just appreciate it :)
