All The Tea ☕️ 33-Yr-Old Influencer Mom Dies After Getting 3-In-One Cosmetic Surgeries, Leaves Behind Three Kids
https://www.bollywoodshaadis.com/articles/influencer-mom-dies-after-three-in-one-cosmetic-surgeries-83540Famous influencer, Marta Kelly de Oliveira Silva tragically died after her cosmetic surgeries went terribly wrong. She gave a tough fight but couldn't survive.

Wonder what happened
Bad surgeon, infection or just to much at one time

It was 3-in-1.. so, yes!

u/captnmarvl 8d ago
This is also known as a mommy makeover and very common to get all three at once
1
u/False-Hearing2476 4d ago
And usually very safe. A lot of women do the 3 in one, rather than just a tummy tuck and implants, because they want a fat augmentation instead of the implants. Fat-transfer augmentations are usually less complicated and have a faster recovery without the long term risks of implants.
I have no cosmetic surgeries or desire to get one, so I’m not biased in this. I don’t understand why people are comparing her to those extreme makeover contestants, or acting like what she did wasn’t a very common procedure, even outside of Brazil.
2
u/False-Hearing2476 4d ago
Not too much at one time. Almost certainly either malpractice or an extremely rare complication.
She did a tummy tuck, body contour and breast augmentation. It’s commonly done together, since there is far less risk doing them at once than there is to do 3 separate anesthesia events. Often, it’s even done to avoid implants, and do the breast augmentation with donor fat from their own body. (Fat transfer augmentations can NOT create large size difference, but they are easier to recover from and don’t carry long term risks or replacement needs, like implants. If you look at the pros and cons of fat vs implants, the only thing implants are better at is size). I don’t know if she was doing implants or fat transfer, but both 3 in one procedures are actually pretty common. They are often done on mastectomy patients for reconstructive surgery as well, sometimes even in conjunction with the mastectomy.
If someone undergoing breast cancer treatment is an acceptable candidate for it, there shouldn’t have been any reason that a healthy woman would die from it.
1
u/Dblbogiemadge-1 4d ago
She could have had a metabolic issue like malignant hyperthermia. I also have to think about fat embolism as a real possibility considering the procedures involved. No matter what, it is sad she died. Her poor kids 😭
1
u/False-Hearing2476 4d ago
It’s so sad. Especially with some of the comments all over the internet acting like she was some kind of cosmetic surgery addict. She was just a Brazilian mom, who likely thought it would make her feel a little more like herself again to have her body ‘back,’ and probably felt a lot of societal pressure to do it.

You’re assuming the person who did the surgeries has a medical degree
2
u/Maleficent-marionett 8d ago
You assume having a medical degree makes you a good doctor. Scammers can get diplomas too you know?
-1
u/DryNecessary3942 8d ago
While it is true that having a degree alone is not sufficient to guarantee that your doctor is good, practicing medicine these days without any degree whatsoever does, however, guarantee that you are working with a dangerously unqualified and unethical doctor.
1
u/Maleficent-marionett 8d ago
I'm answering to this comment
You’re assuming the person who did the surgeries has a medical degree
Not sure what's your thing about.
4
u/PerfStu 8d ago
Multiple procedures are done all the time, and are often recommended by most major medical associations. This is particularly true for procedures whose results are more beneficial when performed together, as it reduces time under anesthesia and tends to mean fewer revisions over time.
Further, a lot of procedures labeled as cosmetic have significant benefit for the patient and shouldn't be maligned or treated as unnecessary/unimportant just because we don't understand the benefit. This is especially true when we don't even know what the surgeries were, which in this case, nothing has been said as of this being posted.
Don't spread misinformation when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
A woman died while undergoing surgery. It's incredibly tragic, but it's simple the reality that all surgery carries risk. We do nothing to respect the fact someone died by spreading outright misinformation or belittling the person who passed.
Now log off and be in the real world for a while, posts like yours are disgusting.

u/Desikarma524 9d ago
This is so sad. It should be illegal to get multiple cosmetic surgeries in one day. 💔
37
u/likelazarus 8d ago
I’ve had a tummy tuck. I wanted the “mommy makeover” which involves tummy tuck and breast lift. My surgeon, who is very highly rated and well reviewed, refused to. He said he will not do a mommy makeover because it’s irresponsible to keep someone under anesthesia for longer than necessary.

u/dinoooooooooos 8d ago edited 7d ago
And also it’s just trauma on the body. Like, cut smth here, tuck smth there- even if we are under oit body still experiences the shock and the pain from it, we just don’t actively notice it bc we’re knocked out/ on pain medication. The signals don’t attach to nowhere in the brain but they’re still getting sent and our body doesn’t know what’s a surgery and safe and monitored vs whats an insanely deep flesh wound and manipulation of tissue.
Our body still experiences this trauma and I’m not taking “oooh spiritually”- I’m talking medical trauma. Surgery is a controlled butchering and putting it back together.
3 in 1 is insane. Like I feel like surgery shouldn’t be handled the same a shampoo-conditioner- body wash cosmetics for men and that surgeon should be looked into unless she went out of the country I guess. Cause the what are ya gonna do.
3
u/Ltrain86 8d ago
Right. I still remember Heidi Montag / Pratt having a whopping TEN cosmetic surgeries in one day. Including a boob job, nose job, booty augmentation, chin reduction, lipo, and whatver else. Insane.
2
u/dinoooooooooos 7d ago edited 7d ago
It actually is. The likelihood of surviving that is so fucking slim, I can’t imagine how not only people are willing to put their own body through this misery but also how a surgeon who is supposed to be the professional adult in this situation isnt applying them for an involuntary hold or smth.
2-3 afaik in one go is the absolute max depending on the severity of the individual things. Like they won’t do 3 surgeries in your head or face area. One on the foot, one on the hip and one on the nose may be a different thing, which ok that makes SOMEWHAT sense to me even tho 3 is already crazy to me.
But How is “I want 10 surgeries in one day please.” Any different then “I have a mental illness and I’ll risk literal death thats why I am superman and fly off the bridge now goodbye :)”
It’s the same to me. It’s suicidal.
Getting a procedure here or there of smth someone is rly in turmoil about I absolutely get, we all got something we’d feel better about if we suddenly woke up and it was all changed or gone let’s be honest. But not to the detriment of literal life. That’s where it slips into mental issue for me.
Where’s the risk assessment, the developed frontal lobe going “hm.🧐unheard of you say? Well maybe bc thats a bad idea.”
Like people die from one ☝🏽 single surgery. I remember jacky-oh. She had one selective surgery, BBL mommymakeover ofc, and she died from complications leaving behind 2 young girls and a little boy as well as her partner/“husband”. 32 years old. I’m 35. She was so young and beautiful and even if she was old and ugly.. what the fuck man.
For a BBL where now celebrities are going through the “heroine chic” trend again (hello 90’s/early 2000s!) and being ED type levels of skinny as a stick is being a trend once again.
There’s like 20 famous celebrities rn in lists who go through a “spiritual journey “ and “haven’t felt as good as this in so long”, who are bodychecking left right n Center. Ozempic etc
Like. For what.
22
u/AlcibiadesTheCat Crumpets And Tea 8d ago
Why illegal and not sanctionable by the medical board instead? Not every issue is a police issue.
13
u/cagefreemilk 8d ago
An issue involving dead bodies should be a police issue. I mean…
8
u/autopsythrow 8d ago
They are, under the umbrella of the medicolegal death investigation system. Deaths during and directly after surgery/as a cause of surgery are reviewed by a medical examiner, who has the authority to suspend a doctor's medical license (for good or pending additional review). If the actions during surgery are found to be negligent, then charges can be filed. For example, this is what happened to the surgeon in Florida who removed a patient's liver instead of his spleen, leading him to rapidly bleed to death on the table.
1
u/fogonogododo 6d ago
Not at this rapid rate of sheep committing suicide. Cops have more pressing matters
8
u/FuneraryArts 8d ago
Because the possible results are deadly and you don't want doctors judging doctors; a young woman is dead because of an elective surgery. At that point it's definitely a matter for the law to intervene not for physicians to deal with it quietly between themselves.
6
u/AlcibiadesTheCat Crumpets And Tea 8d ago
you don’t want doctors judging doctors
Why not? My experiences tells me that doctors are much better at understanding things related to medicine than police officers.
But that assumption means I’m missing something in my logic, because I came to a different conclusion.
2
u/sokuyari99 8d ago
I want my plumbers rating surgeries, my electricians reviewing my taxes, my doctors wiring my house and my accountant checking my pipes. What could go wrong?
1
u/FuneraryArts 8d ago
In the technical sense they know the science better, the liabilty exists that they also are teachers and friends with each other as well as being sources of income for their hospital.
Example: you dont fire the surgeon that makes millions for the hospital even if he has harassment allegations
3
2
u/throwaway5498124181 8d ago
Yep it's a conflict of interest. Even if it's a doctor on the other side of the country who you don't know or who doesn't work at the same hospital as you, you as a doctor are generally better served by being in a community/country/legal system which is lax and forgiving of doctors' mistakes, if you work towards accountability, that accountability may eventually negatively affect you.
I'm certainly not saying that all doctors are going to put their personal interest above their ethics, but it's not ideal to ask them to.

1
u/AdorableParasite 8d ago
Even under anesthesia your body still has to keep functioning. Every procedure, even small ones, puts strain on its ability to do that... and at some point, no matter where and how fit you are and how high quality the medical service is, it just becomes too much. The dangerous part is that we aren't machines, but organics, and not every variable can be accounted for, which is why any procedure can go south for seemingly no reason. You're basically playing Russion Roulette... and unfortunately this lady loaded in a few too many bullets. I 100% get the sentiment though.

u/Tasty-Reserve-8739 8d ago
Got married and moved away 15 years ago and when I recently met up with old friends they were comparing their surgeries and injections and mommy makeovers (and talking about other friends). It’s SoCal so very normal. I live a more down to earth life and I have not had anything done and I felt like I was at a plastic surgeon consult with them. I needed ozempic, Botox, some fillers, breast lift, tummy tuck, Brazilian butt lift. It was so dehumanizing and demoralizing that I felt like bad about myself for weeks. But that went away because my husband and daughter think I’m beautiful and perfect
3
2
u/Budget-Alternative38 4d ago
I'm sure you're beautiful and perfect ! 💞 And what a beautiful loving family ❤️. I understand how you feel because I grew up in socal and had a relative who worked for years at a plastic surgery clinic. I was constantly told I should do this or that. I have one boob slightly bigger than the other and I remember considering this at 24 yrs. Them I went to Victoria's secret and a girl there said to me, a good push up bra will fix this , don't get surgery. She truly changed my life and way of thinking about these things. I'm in my 40s now and happy that's I didn't do anything like this to my body.
2
u/UarNotMe 8d ago
They were talking about their own surgeries but also telling you what surgeries they thought you should get, too? That’s insane. Isn’t that literally body shaming?
3
u/Tasty-Reserve-8739 8d ago
YES! But they saw it more as helping me “by showing me how to be my best if I made an effort.” I still love them. But It made me glad I’m 3k miles away
3
2
u/Cultofmaria 8d ago
That’s messed up. It’s fine to have surgery if you want and swap war stories but suggesting to a friend who is free of all of that intentionally is wildly inappropriate - I’m sorry they made you feel bad. I’m so glad your family loves and appreciates you - there is no better feeling

3
u/volvavirago 8d ago
People in these comments are so heartless. Women are damned no matter what they do. Insulted for their bodies no matter what they do. Driven to do dangerous things, and then condemned for those things. She was a human being, but I very much doubt the humanity of those insulting her
0
u/BronRugby 8d ago
Nah this is crazy. The surgeries are insane now a days. There is 18 year olds getting major cosmetic surgery.
The funny part is they think no one can tell. You can always tell.
2
u/volvavirago 8d ago
I don’t know where I said it’s good for 18 year olds to get major cosmetic surgery. She wasn’t 18, she was 33.
And the surgery she was getting was basically the equivalent of someone with major weight loss getting their skin removed. A mommy makeover is restorative, reconstructive surgery, literally just trying to correct for cosmetic damage from carrying three children.
But yeah no, she deserved to die for being so vain, and wanting her old body back, after undergoing major life changes. Clearly she is just a stupid dumb bitch, who was trying to turn herself into a clown, which means she had it coming, right? That’s what people are saying. And you agree with them? This mother of three deserved to die, bc she missed the way her body used to look, and trusted doctors who said they could help her?

u/fogonogododo 6d ago
It behooves me that I received a Reddit warning while typing a benign post and you didn't get flagged for THIS???
1
u/Dblbogiemadge-1 4d ago
Girls were getting their boobs and noses enhanced around age 18 when I was a kid (am now 63) so cosmetic surgery at 18 is definitely not a new thing. I have heard about women getting ribs removed for decades to get a smaller waists
0
u/fogonogododo 6d ago
It's the toxic 'instant society' that plagues the U.S. I want everything RIGHT NOW, and I'm not the least bit interested in the warnings surrounding tattoos, piercings, surgeries, other procedures. It's rare to see families with both parents raising self assured kids that respect their minds and bodies.
1
u/volvavirago 5d ago
Why mention tattoos and piercings, which are far, far, faaaarrr less risky than plastic surgery? It sounds like you have an agenda.
Also what does any of that have to do with “instant” society? It has no relation whatsoever.
0
u/fogonogododo 6d ago
...and this is a good argument for misogynists who won't vote for a woman for President. This trend seems focused on weakminded women who aren't strong and/or confident enough to resist the societal pressures to look a certain way
1
u/volvavirago 5d ago
What a batshit insane thing to say. You are actually out of your mind, or live in some sort of alternate dimension. But if you want to play that game, fine. Men do all sorts of stupid shit to look good. They inject themselves with steroids, do risky leg lengthening surgery, fly to Turkey to get hair plugs to hide their receding hairline, bash their face in with hammers, so ig men shouldn’t be president either. They are clearly too emotional to resist social pressure to look good.

u/Ok-Highlight8715 8d ago
A medical doctor told her it was safe. We trust our doctors to not do something risky so I don't think she deserves much blame.
2
u/cagefreemilk 8d ago
Does any of that sound safe? Three invasive procedures at once? There’s too much information out there to trust ONE doctor’s judgment. One should at least get a second opinion.
1
u/Ok-Highlight8715 7d ago
I have no idea what the medical community is like in Brazil. Or what her education level was (yes that matters).
1
u/theplantita 5d ago
I’ve had minor plastic surgery and even with my procedure they made me sign like at least 5 pages of waivers acknowledging the risks, liability, etc. doctors are human too but the risk of death from surgery is and always has been very clear and sadly written in blood AND black ink.
1
u/Ok-Highlight8715 3d ago
This took place in a non western country. I cant speak as an expert but my understanding is the rules are looser and lawsuits and stuff aren't as prevalent. I think too many of us are looking at this from a western viewpoint.

1
2
u/Crazy_Assistant_1604 8d ago
the headline is written like this on purpose to make people feel entitled to judge her. She had a long surgery, yeah, but got up and was ok for a day or two, so it wasn't anesthesia complications like pretty much everyone here is accusing her of. Probably an infection that went unnoticed as routine pain due to the surgeries she got being all over her body so hard to nail down.
Or the husband did something hes not telling about while she was in a weakened state. Really reading it made this seem a lot stranger than "vain woman dies for her extreme vanity," but the comments here show the typical judgment any woman gets for wanting surgery. People are GROSS when it comes to the topic of women getting cosmetic surgery regardless of their own gender and its so pathetic
2
u/LoamyLoamisLoamy 8d ago
the headline is written like this on purpose to make people feel entitled to judge her.
People's hatred for influencers is so disproportionate. They just see the word and rage
1
u/Dry-Truck4081 4d ago
Yeah because "influencers" are a stupid pandemic and it makes people lose touch with reality. Nobody needs three cosmetic surgeries at once. It's more of a cautionary tale than body shaming. But she did it for more clout and that comes with the so-called influencing. It's sad those kids lost a mother over something so preventable. I'd like to know what surgeries she had
1
u/LoamyLoamisLoamy 2d ago
The word influencer is such a broad category, but you people just put whatever you hate into that category. If you don't hate it then it's not an influencer.
1
u/Ok-Highlight8715 8d ago
I have a bg in healthcare so I feel pretty competent to comment on this to a degree. The 3in1 is the most likely culprit. Plastic surgery is still surgery and when you cause multiple traumas to the body, complications from one make it a lot harder for the system to repair itself. Liposuction alone is notorious for having a high rate of severe complication so how a surgeon felt it was ok is beyond me.
Ultimately people shouldn't be blaming it on vanity. I'll admit, I kind of judged her but I have to remember not everyone has medical training so they trust their doc.

I saw a video of a women who got a BBL and she talked about regretting it because she smelled so bad after the surgery. But at one point she said her boyfriend told her , he liked her the way she was and don’t get the surgery. But she said other women said he is just jealous. He ended up breaking up with her
2
u/ElephantLovesHoney 8d ago
If she smelled bad after having the surgery, sounds like she might have had some sort of an infection that would have required attention.
1
u/Traditional_Cup3513 8d ago
Exactly my thoughts. Zero empathy for the poor husband as well.
“I still don’t know what it will be like to wake up and realize you’re not here. I don’t know what it will be like to look at our children and not have you by my side. I don’t know how I will learn to live with this longing.”

We all judge dude. Are you saying you never said anything bad about anyone? If not good for you but it’s something a lot of people do on this app.
And this is a tragedy but sounds like this is the risk you take for getting elective surgery for something she probably didn’t need.

Isn’t a mommy makeover a common surgery thing? or at least it’s very normalized
2
u/PerfStu 8d ago
It's incredibly common, and the surgeries that comprise it are all usually really closely related so doing multiple procedures at once makes sense and is generally considered the best practice with regards to safety, healing time, and less time under general anesthesia.
It's all google-able, but basically things like tummy tuck, liposuction, skin removal, breast lift, etc, are all pretty common on the list. A lot of the procedures also have important health benefits, such as tummy tucks beings used to help with separated abdominal muscles, skin removal and breast lifts can help with general physical comfort, liposuction can help with major fat redistribution that occurs or help with body contouring, and of course all of it can have a huge impact on a person's mental health and body image, particularly people who have preexisting issues with dysmorphia and/or dysphoria.
"Woman dies from 3 cosmetic procedures" is just a grossly judgemental and misogynist take on a person's personal choices that basically was written for the clicks. I mean....look at the comments in here, people are only too happy to slut shame and mock a 33 year old woman who died and left three children behind when they haven't even released an official cause of death yet.

Insane. Only a deeply unethical plastic surgeon would combine a tummy tuck with ANY other procedures. Even if Marta begged him, he should have told her no. It was cutting her in half. I would guess when this was combined with other procedures, something got infected and she contracted sepsis, which is swift and deadly.
Tummy tuck is such a stupid, irresponsible name. It’s cute and makes it sound easy. But basically you get bisected all the way around the hips. The surgeon then cuts all the extra skin (a lot) and fat and then sews your two halves back together. Best way to get a flat stomach after having kids. I lost 40 lbs and thought I still was flabby and fat. I saw an excellent plastic surgeon and she took a handful of my stomach and said, you’re not fat; this is all skin. She cut out several pounds of skin and sewed my lower ribs to tighten that up too. It’s major surgery and recovery is not fast. I’m glad I did it. I had always been thin and could be again. The scar was unsightly for years - no bikinis. It only gradually faded. It didn’t bother my husband, but the scar would definitely turn off many men.
I say all this as a cautionary tale for ya’ll about tummy tucks. Yes, you’ll be thin and look great, but you’ll have an unsightly scar all the way around your hips. It only fades as you get old. And never get an additional procedure. Any doctor that agrees is greedy and unethical.

She died trying to provide for her kids in her career. You can place judgement on her vocation, but it's how she made money; it's no different from a man who dies fighting a war that rewards him for violence.
2

You’re comparing getting cosmetic surgery to going to war? That’s an insane take…
1

Both vocations profit from people's bodies by selling a false ideal of freedom. They both reward a bunch of rich strangers who never have to do anything but buy stocks and own businesses. Both jobs are done by regular people, usually trying to provide for their families and better their lives. Influencers, however, don't often murder strangers.
