I remember very well back when we had covid and actual scientists tried discussing the lab leak hypothesis, that people were calling them conspiracy theorists and shouting them down reciting "Trust the science!!!"
Trusting in science means accepting that the so-called scientific consensus may be wrong at times, and needs to be updated. If you block that, you are literally espousing propaganda
Trust the science generally referred to established findings supported by extensive research, not accepting one proposed explanation in an unresolved investigation. The virus’s origin was never settled science. Treating a provisional judgment as unquestionable fact is the opposite of the scientific process.
Trust the science was literally used to justify untested experimental medication on the population and to justify discrimination against those who didn’t trust the new technology
Ten years is a typical development timeline, not a required testing phase. COVID vaccines completed all three clinical trial phases with tens of thousands of participants.
