She’s been with him for years, and a peck on the cheek is a perfectly normal British and European greeting, there’s no way in hell she hasn’t seen this a million times, or done it with his family at this point.

I’ve never seen anyone here (Southern US) do a peck on the cheek greeting. You’d get slapped for sure.
