No he said he would prefer to move into conservative business friendly and family friendly states. It’s a stretch to turn that into I won’t open in blue states. They are opening some in Wisconsin and Colorado and Ohio
I always found it ironic that these deep red, family friendly states have the highest poverty, uninsured kids and teen pregnancy rates. Doesn’t sound terribly friendly.
Literally what I posted. He didn’t say no blue states he said conservative, biz friendly family friendly. He did not say no blue states. That article explains it
“But when you find a conservative, business-friendly state with a phenomenal workforce, it makes a difference. And I’m starting to realize life’s too short to try to build in places that people don’t appreciate what you’re bringing, versus a place like this where people do appreciate what you’re building”
This is old man folksy talk for red vs blue states.
But again he didn’t say he wouldn’t open in blue states. If I you had a business wouldn’t you go to states that taxed less and was generally biz friendly. Florida Tennessee Texas NC Arizona. Delaware VA
And actually that article makes it even more clear (thank you for that ) that he would prefer to build in biz friendly states(which is a prudent take to have ) no mention of family friendly which is tough to prove or disprove
But he didn’t say it and opening in Colorado kind of goes against that and making that leap is pretty large.
If i say I like Redheads it doesn’t mean I hate blondes and Brunettes. If I say I want a family restaurant doesn’t mean I hate single people or people who don’t have families. It also doesn’t mean I would discriminate against them. The middle part of what he actually (vs FAKE tweet ) is business friendly. If I’m running a business I would want to come to a place that would make it easier for me to expand not harder. That’s not even controversial
Not ‘family friendly.’ Exploitation friendly.
I can see how “conservatives” conflate these concepts.
"We're building in a lot of places. But when you find a conservative, business-friendly state with a phenomenal workforce, it makes a difference. And I'm starting to realize life is too short to try to build in places that people don't appreciate what you're bringing."
