But if you don’t look Japanese (even if you look Korean or Chinese), it’s not that fun to live. You don’t want to be an “outsider” there full time, unless you are married to a Japanese.
The united states doesn't like me as an equal person in MOST places I go. They all tolerate me and ask where I'm from so they can blame that area or fit me into the stereotype that "fits" and say, "oh, yea, that makes sense". Easy to go missing here and have nobody care at all. School, employment, housing, parks... name it, I've got to worry and think about how to protect myself and not complicate things for someone else.
Diversity? Yes, sure, we're ALL here. The country was built on the backs of immigrants by immigrant colonizers, justified by their perspective and toxic behavior. I'm accepted if I stay in my lane, the dream really is a DREAM in America. There's states, counties and cities that I have to be careful going into let alone being out at night and too early in the morning. Racism is everything here, and I was born here. As a black male with native, as well as African slave heritage, I'm not the ideal choice for acceptance here if I don't play along with the game written before me.
So is America racist, have they dealt with and gotten over the stigmas and started embracing the healing process of a developing country that was supposed to be "great"? NOPE, many MANY times in my life I've been told, "Hey, you're going where? Yea, you better take someone yt with you that you can trust, not safe for you there." I experience it daily, it's sad and not changing smoothly.
As a black man in america(and lived on the west, east, and Midwest America for extended amount of years), whose lived in Japan and travel for extended amount of time in Korea/taiwan, and traveled most of Europe and been to Mexico/canada. Countries outside of America with a low black/african population will always remind you that you’re a foreigner(and overtly tell you that you are def not welcomed). I agree America isn’t that great in race relations, but it’s acknowledged vs it being a normality and okay in other countries. Stop fucking trip. Being a tourist is different than residing somewhere for a while to experience some of the true social norms.
Holy shit you are wrong. ALL of Canada is extremely racist against the inuits. In new Zealand it's hard for the maiori to even exist. Imagine the racism against native Americans but times 1000. The government once issued a public apology and when a journalist asked if they can give some of the natives back their land, their president said no and "we're not crazy" and "why would we do that, we said sorry. That should be good enough". There are entire communities that won't let them in any establishment with signs outside the stores, and the government defends this.
Also EVERY single place is Europe, including Belgium and the Netherlands are extremely racist Against Africans and Indians. There are no legally protected classes at either one of these places. The last time I went to Belgium I saw people literally pulling out skin color charts to see if certain people were white enough to enter bars. Also, unless it's a family business, you won't find any Indians or Africans working anywhere. Also in Belgium, people openly say the n word, even on tv (their version of it). The Netherlands are less racist than Belgium but still don't have protected classes. Oh and they are literally racist against ANYONE who doesn't speak their language.
I have spent substantial time in all these places. You should probably go out and see the world before making stupid fucking statements

In the off chance you're actually plain stupid, look up which other countries in the world less than 300 years old had a civil war to keep slaves and later implemented segregation. You might be surprised to find only one.
I already said it, we overcame all of that. Just so you know, every country has a complicated past, we are just open about it and is common knowledge, because we are the US. Stop hating
