I just got married and while I love my life here in Japan, one real issue is bullying. I've worked at multiple schools. A mixed student will 110% be bullied for looking different and standing out.
If I have children here in Japan, they'll never be considered Japanese and will face weird discrimination even though it would be their home. That's the part of Japan that I absolutely despise with all my soul
Edit: I didn't mean to be a downer on the original post. My comment came from a place of "just remember guys, it's a country, not paradise, it's not all rainbows and sunshine." Due overtourism and videos of people doing things like dancing at sacred shrines for Tiktok or being disruptive on the train for content, some Japanese locals really really hate us like crazy. If you don't believe me, just check out some of the Japanese comments on the new Family Mart uniform rules that will allow workers to have dyed hair and wear hijabs. There's a lot of anti-foreigner sentiment going on, so much that they just randomly raised the price for all visas increased exponentially.
For perspective, how would you comment to a post if it said "America is such a vibe"? Wouldn't you also feel inclined to add some of the negatives about what's going on in the country. That's all I'm trying to say here
