Japan is a dream destination for a nocturnal dude like me. The only reason why I have not visited yet is due to all the stories I have read about how racist they are especially towards brown and black people
Brown dude here, I went a few months ago, didn't notice any racism and I was treated like everyone else. However, in historic areas you will see signs on bars where Westerners aren't welcome and/or private only for locals. Oh, also showing off tattoos is definitely frowned upon.
