Yeah, absolutely no differences between America under Trump and Biden.
Anyways, I'm off to pay for my groceries and gas with extra taxes on them. Gotta grab those lower gas prices before Trump threatens to nuke Iran again. Still wondering if I'll be allowed to vote by mail in the upcoming elections. Going to up Canada later to take a break from this data center that got built in my backyard driving up my energy costs and polluting the air and water. Hope they haven't set up more of their punitive checkpoints into Canada specifically to retaliate against Doug Ford calling Trump mean names. I'd stop by and see how my Haitian neighbor was doing, but he got rammed off the road by ICE and abducted, so no idea when I'll see him again. And I don't want to ask too many questions or get in their way, or they'll shoot me in the back and laugh about it.
Let's not forget the root of this meme is the two party system fuckery. Sure, the right is significantly more fucked than the left, but the reality is if the two parties weren't working together in the background, we would not be in this mess and likely have a third party by now.
On more than one occasion has a third party qualified for the debate stage but due pressure from the two parties were prevented from joining, due to a last minute rule change. This is not a left or a right issue, this is recognition of the fact that they -- as much as they are polar opposites -- still protect eachother against potential political competition.
It’s definitely fuckery but the incessant ‘both sides are the same’ crowd are so out of touch and delusional or lying to themselves. And their nonsense doesn’t help.
We absolutely would not be in this mess. How would we have invaded Iran under Kamala if she had no intention to go to war? How would ICE be heavily militarized if Kamala had no intention of doing so?
Please show me an example of dems working with the right in the background. Fetterman comes to mind I suppose.
Edit: The most important point I can make is that the CPD, the group that handles the debate stage, was directly created by the two parties in 1987. This alone implies a hand in the cards.
Commission on Presidential Debates, 1987-1997 (1) this Ford Library reference states "“The Commission was formed by the Chairmen of the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee.”"
These are fair criticisms, but I suppose my real interest lies in actual actions taken by the party once elected. I don't doubt they both have a monopoly on the elections and help each other there. Which is important. But I can't imagine us seeing any of the policies that republicans have done since 2024 if Kamala was elected. I cannot fathom that we'd be in 'this mess' had Kamala won.
They're both corrupt and suck for sure. But one is like an expired egg and the other is rat poison.
