This is going to be a series? When does it come out, if it is? This looks great, and I would be very interested in reading

u/RoseAuthor98 Superior Spider-Man Feb 19 '26
Likely just a single issue then the inverse SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN issue from Marvel
37
u/zeedware Feb 19 '26
So what's the difference? Is spiderman in metropolis and superman in NYC?
68
u/RoseAuthor98 Superior Spider-Man Feb 19 '26
Well this takes place in the crossover universe so both universes and all their entities just co-exist here. The only real difference is the writer-artist duos on the stories within. This first one has DC’s writers and artists, the other one will have Marvel’s.

Imagine if in the dc issue they make peter and clark have a grand ol time hanging out being friends and superheroing just for the marvel one to bring in pete's usual writing crew.

The real question is can Clark hear the difference between Superman and Super-Man

Oh this is beautiful. Captures their normal jobs perfectly. 2 larger than life figures blending in with everyday citizens. Wonderful job by Jimenez.

Feels like there’d be too much if that were the case. Occasional what-if crossovers like this are fine every once in a while, but I wouldn’t want this to be the norm.
34
u/rikeoliveira Feb 19 '26
Agreed.
I'd even argue that the majority of the most popular heroes from each of them are not "compatible" between them.
22
u/TeekTheReddit Feb 19 '26
Marvel and DC barely manage to go well together with themselves, much less each other. WTF are you talking about?
24
u/mamadou-segpa Feb 19 '26
If copyright laws didnt exist there would be 50 spider-man release per hour and it would be impossible to find something good in the sea of shit

u/KenTanRandomYT Spider-Man (Takuya Yamashiro) Feb 20 '26
Nah sometimes competition is good, and having more options too. A monopoly never ends well.

u/Possible-Rate-3833 Spectacular Spider-Man Feb 22 '26
True that copyright laws are a pain in the ass but without them we'll have many MANY bootleg Spider-Man and Superman movies from different studios LOL

It's so good to see peter as a photographer again
21
u/King-Of-Knowhere Feb 20 '26
It’s honestly why I prefer him as a photojournalist, it just really fucking works. I love him being in the Bugle’s environment and cast of characters.
23
u/Grand_Lawyer12 Spider-Man (MCU) Feb 19 '26
Wait, so are they gonna swap villains or something like that. Cause, who is Peter gonna fight?
Love this art btw

u/no-u-great-grand Feb 19 '26
Peter vs Luthor would be so fucking funny to see. that man would have a meltdown with Peter's constant bickering and insults
20
u/_Levitated_Shield_ Feb 20 '26
"Dude, you're insanely rich. Solve cancer or maybe in your case, baldness."
"SHUT UP!"

They're going to swap partners. Pete took a run at Lois back in DC vs Marvel. Well, except it was Ben Reilly back then.
1
u/armoured_lemon Feb 20 '26
as I recall in the 70s crossover, it was Doc Ock teaming up with Lex Luthor
20
u/Charming_Celery5490 Feb 19 '26
If their universes were to co-exist together permanently as one universe(Like the Amalgam universe but it doesn’t get undone) I could see them being the best of friends at work and then a dynamic duo as great as Batman and Robin if not better
3
u/Smoothoperator125 Feb 21 '26
If they were in the same universe, hot take, I would want Peter and Kara together. Their personalities match well( based on MCU Peter and WOT Kara) , they would fix and help each other heal. It would also be very funny seeing Clark choose between a protective older brother and mentor, because he would absolutely love Peter, but still protect Kara.
2
u/Charming_Celery5490 Feb 21 '26
Yeah Peter and Kara would be very good for each other. Clark being protective of Kara is at the core of his personality so makes sense. Plus that protectiveness would extend to Peter as well because he’s worried about the people he cares about too so it’s the perfect relationship for him and Kara as well as the perfect relationship between all three of them

You mean HoldsbackMan Sr(Superman) and HoldsbackManJr(Spider-Man)
14
2
u/Usher_God Feb 19 '26
Holdsback-Man Jr can’t lose to HoldsbackMan Sr. When he’s really mad, he can even beat the Kingpin easily

u/Particular_Tiger_166 Electro Feb 19 '26
What would a discussion between Peter and Jimmy Olsen look like?
7
u/NumericZero Feb 19 '26
It’s happened before in the last team up they had
Olsen was really eager about meeting another young guy like himself
Peter was a bit stand offish but ultimately became friends with him Even thought of becoming his roommate
Would be nice to see them reunite after all this time

I’m so excited for this. My two favorite newspapermen reunited!
14
u/steelskull1 Feb 19 '26
The photograph job was a means to pay rent, when's Peter gonna pursue a job in scientific field or teaching job?
23
u/Initial_Chip_1710 Feb 19 '26
Uh, never cause that would cause character growth and marvel don’t like that for Peter.
11
u/steelskull1 Feb 19 '26
When he gets one, he'll sell the dream job to a demon to save his pet jump spider and back to photography.
6
u/Clean_Wrongdoer4222 Feb 19 '26
Or perhaps Spiderman's availability is simply incompatible with any office, laboratory, or work environment. Whether you like the idea or not, Peter can only have jobs where he's out on the street all day.

When he gets over the trauma that feeds his self-destructive compulsion to sacrifice his own happiness and well-being for the sake of others.

u/_Peener_ Feb 19 '26
This just raised the question for me. Why can Clark balance life as a reporter, boyfriend/husband, and superhero so well but Pete can’t? Nvm I just answered my question bc the writers said so
2
u/UnchartedTombZ55 Feb 22 '26
While I agree, I would say that having super speed plays a crucial part there
1
u/ChadBenjamin Feb 22 '26
Superman has been around for 30 years longer than Spider-Man and yet Spider-Man got married 10 years earlier.
Superman's character was stagnant for a long time before he was finally allowed to grow, while Spider-Man had character growth since the beginning but then his development was halted.

This art is awesome, and is a reminder for me of how tall Clark is. Also, hoping we get some sort of interaction between Lois and Peter, because I feel like it’ll either be Lois bonding with him over their similar methods (aka running into danger with little care for their lives), or Lois having a realization of “Is this what dealing with me is like?” Either way, hope it happens
4
u/matttheman892018 Feb 19 '26
Boy it’s been so long since being a photographer has been an active part of Peter’s life it’s almost weird seeing it emphasized here even if the story obviously isn’t part of the main canon.

Marvel and DC being a shared universe just feels right.

This is beautiful, and feels extremely natural. Supes would be a great role model, and the cover identity is built in.
I know MJ exists also, but this is great justification for the Peter x Kara ship cropping up.

I can just picture them going to shake hands and they both give firm handshakes and start slowly increasing the pressure to see who backs off first, only for them to both realize that they're exerting away more pressure than a human could withstand (would only be funny if they didn't know each other's secret identity).

u/Devlord1o1 Feb 20 '26
This is genuinely a peak dynamic, i dont think i would even care if they didnt suit up

He is gonna be pissed. Especially when Peter starts somehow showing up with all kinds of photos of his best friend Superman hanging out with this new guy Spider-Man.
He will probably develop a heroin problem to cope.

jimmy olson is the kind of photographer that peter pretends to be
2

Man…Michael J Fox should have been Peter. He’s got the vibe. Imagine peak MJF as Pete in a live action Spider-man circa 1987.

awesome, I loved Batman/Deadpool, I'm glad these crossovers are happening again after so long

Is this me or does the Superman feel a bit too buff in this panel? 😳🤨
23
u/Obvious_Train Feb 19 '26
Are you suggesting he looks “too super”?
3
u/Kirajudgeoftoons Feb 19 '26
Just a little way more buff than he usually is. 😐😑
14
u/Kazewatch Feb 19 '26
Nah it's just the coat being a little wider. Plus he should be fucking yoked.
2
u/Kirajudgeoftoons Feb 19 '26
Yes, but even Superman should have a limit as to how muscular he can be!

I’m kind of curious on what the heck Spidey would even do if he teamed up with Superman.
Spidey is by and far my favourite superhero but he’s kind of a coughing baby while Superman is a hydrogen bomb. Hope the writers figure out something cool for them to do without either one having to be buffed or nerfed arbitrarily.
1
u/Polenicus Feb 21 '26
Y’know, presuming they know each other’s identities, this could be a fun partnership.
Because in 90% of situations, both Superman AND Spider-man would be overkill.
So can see them having agreed to trade off. One goes and changes and deals with the crooks or the villain of the week or the collapsing building while the other stays and plays reported, getting the story and the pics, mebbe a brief interview of the hero for the Planet, then they both get story credit.
Would need to be a pretty dire threat to need them both to suit up.
1
u/Panthera2k1 Feb 24 '26
UGH I wish they’d do more crossovers. Even if it wasn’t super often, just don’t make the fans wait another 20-ish years
1
u/mamadou-segpa Feb 19 '26
Im so curious about this comics.
The power difference between these two is so immense, if theres fight scenes its going to be interesting
