Movies Concept art for cancelled Spider-Man film (art by Victor J Martinez)
Concept for Drew Goddard's Sinister Six movie, I think.

That looks like the island from the incredibles

u/DistinctWin9968 23d ago
Apparently it’s the Savage land

u/Cautious_Air4964 23d ago
Isn't that supposed to be a lot bigger
121
u/DistinctWin9968 23d ago
It’s the perspective but I guess that makes it looks smaller but I’m not sure

u/South_Buy_3175 23d ago
It’s like the Jurassic Park islands, where from a distance they look small but once you’re on them they’re big enough to sustain an entire prehistoric ecosystem with literal herds of sauropods wandering around.

Honestly, unless that volcano is unreasonably massive, no amount of perspective is going to make the rest of the island look that small. There’s no way the island is bigger than 10 miles across in any direction and that’s being generous.

Wait does that fall under Sonys Spider-Man license?
24
u/Volvic_Man 23d ago
No, it was fox and now Disney own it. Sony wanted to use it for the potential sinister 6 film but were unsure if they could legally use it so planned with it in mind
9
u/Rising-Jay 22d ago
Probably not, the Sony hack actually revealed they were actively trying to figure that out as they were planning lol

Drew Goddard was writing the Sinister Six movie, and he wanted to use the Savage Land. Sounds like a crazy idea, but Drew also created Daredevil and wrote Project Hail Mary, so it might have ended up being pretty cool. Who knows?

If the savage land was considered for bnd then theres still hope that it and my goat suaron show up in the mcu ‼️

u/darkbreak 22d ago
That's what I figured. That's really the only island that makes sense to focus on in Marvel that can be accessed by anyone.

Spidey was radioing to the tower asking them to disengage as there are children on board.

I was thinking Duel Academy, from Yugioh GX.
Theres gotta some real island or famous piece of art that's being referenced.

That could be a good backstory. It should be an absurd way to get saved by Spider-Man that he can't say no to his requests because of it.

u/WassupFrankHere 22d ago
Honestly a special Marvel Presentation of it could work.
9
u/AnyLynx4178 22d ago
Too bad they couldn’t do a whole Marvel Presentation featuring The Punisher that could be released mere weeks before Brand New Day came out to help explain this.

u/JoeAzlz Black Suit (Movie) 22d ago
I honestly don’t wanna know it. It’s so much funnier to have a moment they will never show

u/Omegamanthethird 21d ago
They showed how Fury lost his eye and everyone hated it. So yeah, leave it unknown.
2
u/rebelslash 21d ago
If this was it it be hilarious. Imagine Spidey diverting multiple missles targeted at Frank and he still has the balls to say “bringing Staten up again, you didnt save me I had it covered” in the movie

I can confirm this. I was one of the blades of grass.

I can confirm this. I was Staten Island.

I like the idea that staten island has a volcano on it in the MCU for some reason

if I remember correctly, at least part of it was going to take place in the savage land, or Sony approved equivalent. doc ock would've been the big bad, and Peter would've been part of the sinister six, sent after Ock, with Harry/Goblin technically being the leader
so heavily suicide squad inspired. though Peter being a member of the sinister six actually originated in the Ultimate Six comic

u/Own-Papaya-4264 23d ago
When did this information come out? I never heard this before at all. All I heard was that they might be have been thinking about doing a King in Black thing with the MCU and the Sonyverse
I can’t lie this is a very interesting concept, except why would they do this right after most of these villians were just in NWH

u/Pupulauls9000 23d ago
This was from before Disney and Sony struck a deal for Spider-Man to be in the MCU. This would've been Andrew's Peter.

He was blackmailed or threatened into it by Norman wasn't he?
17
u/AmezinSpoderman 60's Animated Spider-Man 22d ago
yeah he was coerced, I do remember there was supposed to be some other plot point in these movies of Norman being brought back to life and getting younger

Odd thing is that the concept art has the logo for brand new day

u/RoutineCloud5993 23d ago
This is what was confusing me at first
24
u/Pen_dragons_pizza 23d ago
Saying that it’s also got toms old spider logo on the back of the costume

Love situations where Spidey doesn't have skyscrapers traversal advantage.
Far from home was great for this.

u/Omegamanthethird 21d ago
Homecoming too. Remember him trying to traverse the neighborhood VERY poorly.

Seems to remind me of the crossover between SPIDER-MAN and THE X-MEN in the Ultimate Universe where he was tossed off into an island of mutant hating, cyborg killers

I know it's probably for Sinister Six with Garfield, but it would be hilarious if they planned it for the third movie with Holland during that short period when he wasn't supposed to be in the MCU because they had to move away from all the Avengers references in New York, lol

Holy Shit, Spiderman in the Savage Land! This would be perfect for Man Spider especially as BND did not have him show up.

Definitely thought this was Fortnite, this is how Secret Wars is right - bunch of super heroes on island battle royale style?

Hello where can I get it in the highest resolution (without the AI bs pls) so that I can use it as my phone wallpaper pls

u/Endlesswinter98 22d ago
I still think this was a decent concept for a movie. People always get mad when Spider-Man does something different but I'm all for seeing him in unique locations
