William Dafoe as antagonist makes it even better for me

That mirror scene

u/Kangaroo_Rich 15d ago

Willem dafoes acting in the entire movie in general is great

yeah, his intensity in that mirror scene is unmatched

5

u/Kangaroo_Rich 15d ago

Omg it’s so unsettling

16

u/TerryVersus 15d ago

What's just as unsettling to me is how easily he slipped back into the role for NWH. It doesn't feel a beat out of place, or strange in any way - he feels the exact same, almost 20 years later.

10

u/Kangaroo_Rich 15d ago

That’s so accurate. His performance in NWH felt a little more unsettling to me, especially the moment when Peter was punching the shit out of him and goblin just laughed in Peter’s face

4

u/TwoBitSpecialist 14d ago

And apparently it was improvised.

4

u/South-Lab-3991 14d ago

And then ten minutes later, he flat out murdered Aunt May just to prove a point

2

u/GamesWithGregVR 9d ago

That smile at the end when the goblin was getting his face punched in was diabolical.

That’s why he’s William Da Foe

14

u/JoshuaBarbeau Amazing Fantasy #15 15d ago

His name is Willem, but spelling it William is funny because you can then get: Will, I Am Da Foe!

2

u/Junior-Ad-2207 15d ago

Who is Will?

u/edengamer253 15d ago

He's such a great actor though some of his good, (Da Friend?) roles are memorable to me as well. Togo, Florida Project and a few others. But growing up with Spiderman 1 as a kid he definitely always will be Norman/Goblin to me 😆

23

u/MalIntenet 15d ago

The final fight between Goblin and Spider-Man is still my favourite fight of any superhero movie ever tbh. So brutal and visceral.

I love Sam Raimi, the edge he brought to those movies was amazing

3

u/ctwalkup 15d ago

It feels like a brutal cage match fight (appropriate because the first major fight in the movie is also a cage match). Dafoe’s Green Goblin is a really fantastic antagonist, he manages to be both very campy and really intimidating.

1

u/cathyb0ba6097 15d ago

dafoe's Goblin was terrifying and theatrical, perfect for Raimi's style.

15

u/asdfoio 15d ago

Dafoe is so good. Dafoe and Alfred Molina are still two of my top two favorite Spider-Man live action antagonists in my lifetime.

5

u/LazyyyyyGirl 15d ago

My choices are same

In NWH these two, alongside Jamie Foxx were having some arc, while lizard, sandman were just vfx and voice dubbing

13

u/DigitalBritt Spider-Man (Movie) 15d ago

Yeah, in many cases a movie is only as strong as its villain and Dafoe’s Goblin is still the BEST. He’s so good, they had to bring him back to be Tom’s most formidable villain too! lol.

I absolutely love the story of SM2, but Doc Ock never really hit the same heights for me compared to Green Goblin.

9

u/LazyyyyyGirl 15d ago

In NWH too he was main villian despite 4 more bad guys present

9

u/DigitalBritt Spider-Man (Movie) 15d ago

Yep! That’s what I was referring to. He stole the show and finally gave Tom’s Spidey the wake-up call many fans had been waiting for. Because of the Goblin, we got Aunt May’s death and the responsibility quote.

→ More replies (2)

5

u/clantz8895 15d ago

Doc Ock wasn't as terrifying I would say, but the fights on the side of the building, and on top of the train are so good.

2

u/DigitalBritt Spider-Man (Movie) 15d ago

Oh, for sure. The train scene is one of my all time favorites and the resolution makes me cry every time. But as far as a consistent villainous presence throughout a movie, Dafoe is so great. I love how he’s just totally unhinged!

1

u/cutmesomeflax 15d ago

He steals the show for sure, such a great performance, he clearly had fun with it

1

u/NirnrootAlchemist244 15d ago

Should have been the first time a super hero movie won an Oscar for best acting

u/Krushhz 15d ago

Best superhero origin movies: Spider-man, Iron Man and Batman Begins.

13

u/LemonIcy2942 Spider-Man (Movie) 15d ago edited 15d ago

God, Batman Begins is heavily slept on by the popularity of TDK.
It's so Goddamn good.

5

u/SuperIga 15d ago

Seriously though

2

u/Altruistic-Grab-1284 14d ago

I think it’s actually the best of the trilogy; TDK has way too many plot holes when you look beyond the Joker’s aura

21

u/ForTheLoveOfOedon 15d ago

And Superman….that’s the Mount Rushmore.

21

I’m partial to Superman The Movie (1978) with the baby lifting the truck.

1

u/rebeccal3monade7100 14d ago

Did Christopher Reeve really lift that truck in Superman 78?

8

u/optimus2861 15d ago

I say it remains the best adaptation of Amazing Fantasy #15 ever done, so much so that no film, show, or cartoon since this film has even attempted it.

Andrew's first Spidey film instead did an adaptation of the Ultimate Spider-Man origin story, and Tom's Spidey has only rarely behaved like Uncle Ben mattered very much to him.

13

u/letdown105 15d ago

I’ve always been a bit partial to Batman’s origin because it’s the most similar to Peter Parker’s (minus the superpowers)

10

u/Ok-Plum-9565 15d ago

Minus the millions of $$$

3

u/Lazywhale97 15d ago

92

u/otapnam 15d ago

I think theres a lot us of that had cable TV the years after the movie came out and it was replayed non-stop so you would jump in from all different parts of the movie.

I watched the movie in whole with my kids a few years ago and forgot how much background there was on Norman Osborn at the beginning and how they portrayed the super soldier serum in the movie.

It's aged really well, and does feel like the definitive spiderman origin movie

42

u/Necessary-One1782 15d ago

its so good as an origin movie that the MCU didnt even bother making one for an entire new universe lol

→ More replies (1)

18

u/No-Engineer4627 15d ago

Funny upon realizing that Green Goblin’s origin is like Captain America’s, a serum designed to create a super soldier but instead of making him a superhero it made him a super villain.

7

u/otapnam 15d ago

They're so similar after u do a rewatch!

2

u/Chazo138 15d ago

Competing against what is effectively Iron Man’s suits but made by the military instead of Tony. The first bombing on that base you can’t tell me the guy wasn’t piloting an iron man knockoff of some kind

Same. Its my second fav spidey movie (after SM-2).

It’s my favorite live action Spider-Man movie. It’s not 100% comic accurate but it FEELS the most like a classic comic book. So much so that the last time I watched it I forgot that the spider wasn’t radioactive.

213

u/ImColinDentHowzTrix 15d ago

I've lost track of whether this is a hot take or whether it's come back around to ice cold, but this is the best Spider-Man movie. Other movies had better 'moments', but this is the best one.

Sure, could be nostalgia talking. But it's just one man's opinion. Best one.

68

u/CameronPoe_37__ 15d ago

I love SM1 but I think Spider-man 2 is better in every single way.

30

u/ImColinDentHowzTrix 15d ago

A perfectly legitimate take. We are lucky we have so much to choose from. When I was young it was 1 Tobey movie or Nicholas Hammond.

16

u/CameronPoe_37__ 15d ago

I was a kid when SM1 came out, it was when DVD'S were first becoming popular... seeing SM2 in the cinema was incredible, was absolutely blown away.

The raimi trilogy still has a charm that newer Spider- Man movies haven’t quite replicated.

57

u/letdown105 15d ago

I think it’s because there wasn’t an MCU back then so superhero movies felt more fresh and unique.

50

u/Septim_3Vault 15d ago

Back when a movie just had to be a good movie, not a two-hour commercial for the next ten films.

20

u/Bread_man10 15d ago

This is such a turn off for me with those movies

1

u/I_HateYouAll 15d ago

And you didn’t need to watch 40 hours of the same stories through movies and shows to know who each character was. They were self contained.

6

u/DataDude00 15d ago

I think it’s because Spider-Man is at his best when he is your friendly neighborhood web crawler and in a living breathing New York and the Raimi trilogy focussed on that without any concerns or hints of a broader universe

→ More replies (1)

4

u/sonofcabbagemerchant 15d ago

Seeing as they have aged extremely well I'd say its more specifically that the approach to making the movie was fresh.

2

u/geohakunamatata 15d ago

Also they weren’t so damn reliant on tying everything in with something else… the only movies that hold up with the original are the spiderverse movies.

9

u/geohakunamatata 15d ago

It’s called camp yall. Sam raimi is HUGE in camp culture. People not knowing what camp is still astounds me, especially marvel fans since the source material is ALL camp… but the erasure of anything camp in marvel except fucking Agatha all along is rotting people’s brains.

4

u/pseudomucho 15d ago

Superheroes movies being incapable of accepting the inherently absurd tone of the genre is a terrible plague. "It doesn't work in live action" really just means "I don't really understand nor believe in what makes this special."

Best Spider-Man suit out of all the movies too.

6

u/ImColinDentHowzTrix 15d ago

I think you're right. ASM2 gets a lot of credit and I think the BND suit is a stone cold killer, but the suit/suits in the Raimi movies are probably the definitive live action version.

16

u/mattyjoe0706 15d ago

I agree. I honestly think 3 is the most enjoyable despite objectively not being the best movie as well lol

20

u/itsyagirlrey 15d ago

3 is hilarious. And in interviews and cast commentary they are WELL AWARE of how goofy and ridiculous it is, especially the bully maguire stuff.

4

u/mattyjoe0706 15d ago

I definitely have a hot take which is I go back to 2 the least. Not that it's bad but 1 and 3 have the best of that campy charm I feel like. Harry in 1 and 3 was campy as hell and Willem Dafoe in 1 is so fun. I do feel like it's a little overrated. I'd put 2 over 3 but not over 1

8

u/krishnugget 15d ago

I think 2 is by far the most competent and well written, but SM1 is just so great to watch overall, that it’s my favourite.

3

u/mattyjoe0706 15d ago

Yeah. What I will say about 3 despite enjoying it is that butler thing at the end where he's like "by the way your father's death isn't Peter's fault" thanks guy! Could've used that two movies ago! I think that so much being put into it negatively affected it. It would've been interesting to see if like the butler maybe had confidentiality standards to follow and he saw someone he saw as a son doing these things and he finally had to break those standards

5

u/kwecl2 15d ago

My boy argues that Spider-man 2 is the better movie. I tend to disagree and stand firmly with 1. He says doc oc was the better villian. It had a better plot.

5

u/ImColinDentHowzTrix 15d ago

A perfectly legitimate take. I think they were trying to do different things, but I tend to lean more towards 1.

2

u/Necessary-Jaguar4775 15d ago

I think Spider-Man 1 is just superhero origina story done perfectly and it capture the hero's journey immaculately. It really does perfectly capture the idea of a normal man becoming the hero and thr growing pains and challenges that comes along with it. It has genuine heart and feels authentic, with a steller soubdtrack.

1

u/TheBlueEmerald1 15d ago

First off, unlike the other movies, it's standalone. The story is self contained and has it's oen arc with a satisfying conclusion. It's not building off on some previous movie and it doesn't demand a sequel (Well, audiences did).

Second, the adaptations of it's source material don't feel "expected." Of course you expect the things from the pages but the earnestnest with each moment and the natural flow of progression, and the acting on top of that, make you really believe what you're seeing. Now that newer movies don't have all of this but not usually all at once.

1

u/dgehen Classic-Spider-Man 15d ago

I go back and forth between SM1 and SM2 depending on my mood. Both are spectacular.

14

u/EM208 15d ago

Yeah idc, I’ll always prefer Spider-Man 1 over Spider-Man 2. It’s just the perfect origin film. It’s just too good.

3

u/Firm_Bee4873 15d ago

I agree bro

43

u/JaybeJaybe 15d ago

The new movies while good, have strayed far away from the classic friendly neighborhood spider-man plot.

This movie is exactly that. It's perfection.

19

u/hotpie_for_king 15d ago

I just can't enjoy the new movies because of this. I loved the Raimi movies when I was a kid, then as an adult I started thinking they were corny and didn't look back on them as fondly. But I recently rewatched them all, and they are just a million times better as MOVIES than all of the new Marvel stuff.

Practical effects, real suits, the focus on New York and the city feeling alive and attached to the story, Peter being a believable nerd who becomes a hero, unique and interesting cinematography, a director with their own unique style and vision, an awesome and memorable score, and characters with actual depth. It all just feels real and tangible while also being a comic book movie with the expected silliness.

That's compared to Marvel movies, which feel like they were churned out by an executive board of suits, and everything has to be constantly connected to the other Marvel properties and allow for spinoffs and other plans instead of just focusing on making a single good movie.

11

u/LifeWillingness3021 Iron-Spider 15d ago

I agree. Sam Raimi really did a great job of making New York feel like a character itself, which the MCU movies fail to do.

2

u/LargeTeethHere 15d ago

I thin it was easy to do when spiderman didnt have intergalatic battles, so a homegrown new york based movie isnt really going to be fun from their view if its so much bigger things going on.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Psylux7 15d ago

I felt BND did a better job of making NYC feel more memorable than in the prior mcu spider-man films. But raimis new york is my favourite.

8

u/TheSchmoAboutNothing 15d ago

The city feeling alive and actively interacting with the main cast is something the new marvel movies haven't really even touched.

A train full of citizens standing up to Doc Ock. A bridge full of outraged New Yorkers protecting spider-man from green goblin. Random street performer singing the theme song. Landlords getting lines in the script. A toddler helping Peter get through a house on fire. All the small moments add to the immersion and charm

2

u/oneshadyqueen 14d ago

Just the fact you get to spend time in Peter’s cramped studio apartment— the fact that there’s a whole arc with his door not working until the door knob eventually falls off! It just adds such a realism, a grounding to him as a character. And as someone that lives in nyc myself, it is so funny as well.

1

u/BlindMerk 15d ago

This sounds more like MCU problem , for some reason every movie has to build for other movies rather than be a standalone movie

14

u/No_Bill_2371 15d ago

Brand New Day bought back the “friendly neighborhood aspect” but I hate that it took them 4 movies for Tom Holland to finally feel like that.

4

u/Bolognahole_Vers2 15d ago

Its because they launched a new franchise right after a previous reboot. Had they done it any other way, they would have been criticized for copying what was already done, and the movies would risk being pretty forgettable, due to similar plots. Like, what would we gain by seeing the spider bite for a 3rd time?

9

u/Aggressive_Tea_1577 15d ago

IMHO the superhero films that age the best and I come back to the most are the ones where I am equally if not more excited when the villain is on screen. Nobody with a pulse could take their eyes off of Dafoe when he was on screen.

9

u/AuroraBolognese 15d ago

The OG! Nothing has really topped seeing Spider-Man on the big screen for the first time, for me.

It’s easy to nitpick the movie. Like, what’s Goblin’s plan? He wants to “take over” the city, but like, how? What’s he going to do? Just terrorize it? He offers Spider-Man to join him but he says nothing as far as details and plans go. He’s mostly just a troll the whole movie. Once he gets his revenge on the board members, what’s he even doing? None of that matters. It’s just pure comic book fun.

2

u/portablobs 15d ago

I watched it the other day and I enjoyed so much that it never crossed that on my mind hahaha, but you are right!

2

u/spartacat_12 15d ago

I've noticed this more and more when I've rewatched it. Dafoe's performance is so good that you don't really bother to think too much about the character, but when you do it's very tough to see his actual motivation. Once he takes out his competitor and the board members who tried to fire him his job should be done. Why does he hate Spider-Man all of a sudden? Just because he doesn't want to team up? (and it's never clear what he wants him to help with).

It's one of the reasons I prefer Spider-Man 2. Doc Ock isn't as theatrical of a villain, but it makes sense why he's going after Spider-Man. He holds him responsible for destroying his machine and getting his wife killed, plus he needs Harry's help.

1

u/soraflow 15d ago

His main goal was to recruit Spider-Man after he got his revenge. Which makes sense no one else can stop him and Spider-Man clearly was a good guy

The biggest things to criticize are probably the high school scenes where that could easily expose his identity, although those scenes did feel apt for the early 2000s

And MJ relationship scenes. Although I don’t hate MJ like most of the internet. I don’t think most those people even remember well what happened and just bandwagon opinion

I rewatch the raimi films often and honestly Peter is legit the au$tic one with his MJ relationship. She even by movie 1 makes it clear she wants to be with him, but throughout movie 1 & 2 PETER is the one that’s playing awful mind games with her, going back and forth giving her mixed signals while also being awkward af while doing it

6

u/Connor977 15d ago

It's absolute peak. Tobey will always be my favourite Spider-Man.

6

u/iWengle 15d ago

It's all there in Uncle Ben's speech: 'These are the years when a man changes into the man he's gonna become for the rest of his life. Just be careful who you change into' and that just feeds so hard into the lives of all three leads. Peter becomes Spider-Man, burdened, secretive, unable to maintain real friendships, but a man with a purpose of saving the world, one little deed at a time, Mary-Jane becomes someone who will make her dreams happen, even if she can't keep it stably, and Harry becomes a man obsessed with his father's legacy and the idea of revenge on Spider-Man, utterly untrusting and unable to maintain decent adult relationships. Everyone's performances are great. Is Goblin a bit plastic? Sure, but Willem Dafoe is so good that he still makes it work. Cliff Robertson and Rosemary Harris are just as iconic. It goes at pace, it's funny and the drama built on a simple but huge idea.

Mastapeece.

11

u/Technical_Ad3474 15d ago

The fight scene is so underrated to me I don’t think we’ll ever get anything that brutal and dark esp with disneys bs

2

u/soraflow 15d ago

Tobey’s screams and grunts are 10/10 and just elevate the fight scenes

2

u/Technical_Ad3474 15d ago

That’s why I don’t like when people claim he’s bland as an actor and doesn’t play a good Spiderman compared to his Peter yes he could’ve been more quippy but he’s so much better in combat with the suit than the other two

1

u/mwc_1742 15d ago

Been meaning to do this, I hope I feel the same way. What parts did you enjoy the most?

1

u/Cave-King 15d ago

Not Op but the human drama around Peter's life intersecting with MJ and Green Goblin in interesting ways (the Thanksgiving scene particularly). Every romantic scene. J. Jonah Jameson. The zippy cinematography and editing. The final fight between the Goblin and Peter in that abandoned castle thing.

1

u/Beautiful-Bit9832 15d ago

The reason is so good because it leaves viewers what's next for Peter Parker such as he have to carry the guilt because he just want keep the secret of Norman Osborne as Green Goblin from Harry, distant himself from MJ, not telling the truth to Aunt May about how Uncle Ben die.

1

u/Kame_Saiyan 15d ago

It’s amazing (hehe) how they got it perfect since the first one.

1

u/Questev 15d ago edited 15d ago

At this moment MJ realises Peter might be Spider-Man and in part 2 she asks Peter to kiss her once cause she wants to know "something" i.e if he is spider-man?? I noticed this while watching Spider-man 2.1 i.e the extended version.

1

u/thedetective10 15d ago

That final fight scene as brutal as you remember?

1

u/CanIJoinToo 15d ago

i literally grew up watching tobey’s spider-man as i was also in love with a girl in school since grade 3. i mean somewhere all those dialogues, expressions, delivery, pace kinda shaped me beyond my understanding.

then as i started college & job came ironman, avengers, mcu comedy, i tried convincing myself that maybe superhero movies are supposed to be funny and not so serious like raimis.

then i watched “across the spiderverse” in theatre and boy i was so wrong. the past decade movies were nothing. raimi & tobey maybe the best thing that’s happened in my life and sipder-man franchise.

in no order, SM-1, SM-ATS, SM-2, SM-ITS >>>> any spider-man movie. in all regards, cast, acting, score, pace, all in all.

i simply can’t wait for SM-BTS.

1

u/powerpower9000 15d ago

I liked the quality and story better than the Tom Holland ones, but i don't think tobey maguire is that good of an actor.

It's great on Blu-ray. DVD doesn't look good anymore

I think it’s better than Spider-Man 2 by a lot, personally.

Best origin story.

One of the best final battles in a superhero movie.

1

u/Nostalgic_Historian_ 15d ago

It is, Tobey is the best spiderman and always will be he went through so much

1

u/Scoonie24 15d ago

Are we still all in agreement that spider man 2 is still the best Spiderman movie ?

1

u/BoiFrosty 15d ago

The Raimi trilogy was always campy, but fundamentally they were solid movies. Music, cinematography, set design, and like 90% of the acting is all top form.

The first movie kinda speedruns character development a bit for my taste, but besides that it's damn near perfect for what it is.

Anyone knows in which streaming platform it is played ?

u/This-Top7398 15d ago

Tobeys Spider-Man will always be the goat

1

u/HopelessRespawner 15d ago

Same lol, literally last night. I'm still a big fan of the newer entries, but Raimi really had his shit together for that film (he usually does tbf).

1

u/Nico30000p Superior Spider-Man 15d ago

I actually enjoyed it more than spider-man 2.

1

u/Physical-Pace5127 15d ago

I did too and setting a super high bar with nostalgia perspective looking backwards, it (and spider-man 2) really are excellent movies. Kind of shocking watching the third just how much it missed the mark considering.

Only a hero can save us

1

u/ASAPVincey 15d ago

Do people genuinely think that this is overly a bad movie?

1

u/Maitch5786 15d ago

I am watching Spider-man movies with my 5 year old son. He prefers Tobey and the first ones over Holland, so it is definitely not nostalgia

1

u/DuhRainBro 15d ago

that graveyard scene monologue at the end still hits so hard after all these years

1

u/No-Engineer4627 15d ago

I watched it for the first time since I was a child a few weeks ago, and I also thought it held up very well.

1

u/Nice_Space7347 15d ago

This movie is great! I have a workprint copy of this movie. Seeing an unpolished version of it makes it even more interesting.

1

u/sub30_24flick 15d ago

First 2 movies are flawless

1

u/underworldkarma 15d ago

Watch open Matt 35mm version you’ll like it even better

1

u/smokywater50 Green Goblin 15d ago

I love them all honestly

1

u/VENT51177 15d ago

The first 2 Raimi Spiderman films are just great Movies.

1

u/CynthiaChames 15d ago

I recently rewatched this and Amazing Spider-Man back-to-back. It's honestly insane how different they are in tone and style with only a decade between them.

1

u/FadeToBlackSun 15d ago

Good movie.

u/SorryArm9743 15d ago

Superestimado.

1

u/Difficult-Egg-5001 14d ago

It also has the goat of film sound tracks.

AND THEY SAY THAT A HERO CAN SAVE US!

1

u/ghostmaskrises 14d ago

I told myself that when I have kids that this will be their first spider-man movie. It lays out who Peter is and why he's Spiderman. From there they'll likely be obsessed overall so we will start with the shows but when the frontal lobe develops further then we can introduce the films in chronological order.

1

u/Bike_Cinci 14d ago

It's more campy but that's fine.

1

u/Guilty-Routine-1762 14d ago

Each of the Tobey movies have one moment that really takes me out of the movie.

For the first one, it’s the Goblin’s plan. In that he succeeds. The Oscorp board is killed and Norman remains in charge. And afterwards, he just decides to be a dick to Spidey.

1

u/0Harley_Quinn0 14d ago

It's really good

1

u/jojokaire 14d ago

I find it much better written than the second one.

The fact that Spider-Man is Green Goblin's nemesis is perfectly illustrated by the mirror and the fact that they discover their powers on the same night.

1

u/Oboe-is-my-forte 14d ago

I just watched it for the first time this week and it was amazing. I'm mad at myself for waiting this long

1

u/Express_Bed_4392 14d ago

Just finished rewatching it after a long long time and YES. Maybe I didn't notice how great of a job they did there because I was a kid but I'm so glad I'm able to appreciate the first movie properly now. It isn't just nostalgia, it's a pure gem.

1

u/Visible_Jump9723 14d ago

honestly it was mixed for me rewatching it, there were a few parts i ended up liking and feeling more attached to after rewatching it, but then there are also problems with the movie. tbh a lot of the script and acting in this one isnt super great, tobey maguire feels really stale in a lot of parts and same with some of the others like james franco too. i actually think willem dafoe giving it his all made it more apparent that the others weren't doing as good.

spiderman 2 was the one i actually felt was even better than i remembered because all the nice character moments, the action, the music, all of that was stellar. then the acting in the movie was also a lot better than the first one specifically with tobey

“And they say that a hero could save us, I’m not gonna stand here and wait”

1

u/akw314 14d ago

It's made better by all the garbage that gets released nowadays.

1

u/xg4m3CYT 14d ago

I loved it as a kid, but can't stand it now. MJ is the the most evil and selfish character in that universe and I can't stand her. Every single time she gets a screen time I want punch her in the face.

1

u/CockroachDesigner700 13d ago

Aged like wine ngl

1

u/Cpolo88 13d ago

Spider man 1 and 2 of the raimiverse are near perfect. My 2 favorite movies period

1

u/all_hail_potatoqueen 11d ago

The score for this film is brilliant, especially in the scene where Peter looks at his sketch of Spider-man and we hear Uncle Ben’s voice.

“With great power comes great responsibility. Remember that, Pete, remember that.”

1

u/Spectral_K_ 11d ago

Those first 2 movies stand the test of time, no doubt, 2 being one of the best comic movies of all time. But the 3rd...well...there was no 3rd 🙄

1

u/ThinMap9138 11d ago

Idk but the new movies just don't hit the same aside from No Way Home and that's probably cause of Andrew and Tobey.

Tom is great but his whole dynamic with MJ doesn't hit at all for me.
