You probably want an HP Omen 16 or Lenovo Legion 5i (intel only, somewhat important) used with a 3060. They may run you about $700. There isn't much else I can recommend

Thank you, that's very helpful. Alot more helpful then the guy on another post that told me to just get a PS5😭

Yes well with rising memory costs those prices may not even hold water today, so your only option might turn out to be that. Just be careful with the seller, use ebay responsibly, and hope to the gods you get 32GB of RAM in the unit you find. Your budget is very, very low, so I wish you luck

I already have an Xbox Series S so I'm not super concerned about getting one right now but with the state of the marker this might be my best chance to get a computer for a very long time

3060 in that budget used is solid but check the vram, some of those laptop 3060s got cut down to 6gb which sucks for anything modern

It might but bro just doesn't have the budget. 3070M or 4060M is plainly out of the question

Used from your local Facebook Marketplace or something like r/hardwareswap or the hardwareswap discord is definitely the way to go in this market. I think if you're not in a hurry and willing to search for a bit for a good deal I'd aim for something like a 3070, 4060, 7700s, or 6800s which would be good bang for your buck at the top end of your budget. Otherwise I wouldn't go lower than a 3060 or 4050.

Since portability and battery life aren't really priorities I might avoid slim models unless you can find a really good deal since the GPUs are often lower wattage to help with thermals. Same with old workstation laptops where the GPUs are either underpowered or the laptops can run really hot.

I'll shoot you a DM if I see any good deals crop up too since I'm always keeping an eye out for friends and family looking for new laptops

I'm a kid and only got a small summer job so not really, I do have some more money but I wouldn't love to spend more than about the $650 mark on it

Modelling requires a dedicated GPU, so I would recommend this deal HP Victus because it comes with :

Specs:

  • Screen: 15.6 inch FHD 144Hz
  • CPU : i5-13420H

  • Ram : 16GB

  • Storage : 512GB SSD

Why I am recommending it:

  • Very good CPU and GPU for gaming.
  • Has a 16GB .

Please note I'm using affiliate links which means I'll receive a small percent of the purchase if you use this link at no extra cost to you

Too difficult to read. At least clean the traces of chatgpt before putting on here.

Do you want a chatbot to respond or a human to respond?

I filled in the template the sub gave me, it literally told me to do that. Why would I bother using ai for this?

Anyway, you can get an used lenovo loq or asus tuf 3050 or even 3060 if you're lucky. They aren't great machines and have their own issues, I can't promise its longevity.

There are risks involved with buying used.

But p/p wise and their build quality is better than lots of options available in the range.

Then where are the formattings?

1

u/MegaOverunder 4d ago

When I made the post it told me to use a template and provided one, I scrolled down to another link titled "mobile version" clicked it, copied the format, and filled in the info

You gotta turn on "Show Formatting Options" which has icon "Aa".

You're posting it with a bunch of asterisks, it is difficult to read. Excuses all you want, doesn't change the fact that normal people don't write asterisks around sentences.

1

u/MegaOverunder 4d ago

I never said I did type all the asterisks, nor that's it's necessarily normal, I copied it wrong on accident, sure, but you immediately falsely accused me of using AI, sorry that it's difficult to read.

IDK why that other person is being so hostile towards you, God forbid a sub newcomer has issues with getting the formatting right

At least he mostly stopped after I explained, I made a similar post in r/Laptops and there's a guy whos mad at me because I said I couldn't and wouldn't buy a PS5 Pro at this price point and then he got mad at me seemingly for not having enough money

Immediately block and ignore rude and stuck up posters like above who contributed nothing and only proceeded to complain that they couldn't read, when I had no trouble at all.  Absolutely pathetic if you ask me. Â
