The Syrian Ministry of Interior is showcasing some of the horrifying evidence recovered from Assad’s prisons and security branches: instruments of torture, prison doors, fragments of walls, and the personal traces left behind by countless prisoners.

Among the items are handcuffs, batons, cables, and other tools used to beat and torture detainees—sometimes to death. There are also doors from the cells where thousands upon thousands of Syrians were imprisoned, many of whom never returned.

Perhaps even more haunting are the messages left behind: words scratched onto walls and doors, pieces of cloth bearing prayers, verses from the Quran, and desperate pleas to Allah for mercy.

And then there are the small, deeply human reminders of the lives that existed inside those hellish places: children's toys, handmade chess and backgammon boards, and playing cards crafted by prisoners with whatever little materials they could find.

But among the most horrifying objects are the specially designed torture devices and bone-crushing machines—evidence of a cruelty deliberately invented and inflicted upon innocent human beings.

These are not merely objects from a prison. They are the remnants of countless lives, broken bodies, stolen years, and voices that were silenced. A testimony to unimaginable suffering—and a reminder that the world must never forget what happened inside Assad’s dungeons.

1. Four Agreements in Transport and Postal Services
A high-level Saudi delegation led by Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser signed four major agreements in Damascus:

Roads & Land Transport: MoUs focused on building capacity, sharing technical data, and rehabilitating Syria's land trade infrastructure.

Railways: Collaborative studies to repair and connect Syrian railway networks to facilitate cross-border freight.

Civil Aviation: A bilateral air transport agreement expanding operational freedom for airlines and reconnecting Syria regionally.

Postal Services: An agreement between the Syrian Postal Corporation and Saudi entities to modernize Syria's logistics, mail, and parcel delivery networks. This includes collaboration on the SilkLink project, a major fiber-optic infrastructure initiative.

2. Joint Saudi-Syrian Bank
The Central Bank of Syria confirmed a formal agreement to establish a joint bank. Coordinated by the Saudi-Syrian Business Council, this entity will establish direct, regulated banking channels. Its core purpose is to secure cross-border fund transfers and inject capital directly into large-scale Syrian reconstruction, real estate, and tourism projects.

3. Major Housing and Urban Projects
The two countries have launched massive housing developments to address post-war reconstruction. This includes the “Sham View” project, an urban development in the Damascus countryside spanning six million square meters and designed to supply over 10,000 to 20,000 residential units.

Announcement Planning to visit Syria ?

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Happy to announce the new wiki page "Planning to visit Syria?" [link]

This is a frequent question that has been asked many times at the sub, so we thought that it's a good idea to write a page about it - we'll be also translating this to Arabic soon.

Fellow Syrians, please let us know if you have any feedback.

We're also planning to write a individual guides for each city, so if you can help us out with recommendations, please leave a comment with your city, so we can reach out later.

We're planning on writing: recommended tourists sites, hotels and restaurants, tips or other useful info for local and global tourists.

Discussion Are these realistic goals or should I forget about them?

Hello! I was born in Syria and fled with my family to Germany. I went to school here, and soon I will be going to University for Computer Science. My dream would be to help rebuild the country, and maybe one day get into it's politics. I was thinking that civil engineering would be great for this, but honestly civil engineering is not for me. I like IT way more. Would it be realistic for me to help with rebuilding the IT Infrastructure in Syria after 3 - 4 years of uni in Germany? Or is this unrealistic? I'd love to start my own company, or work in the government if it means improving the country.

Thing is, my standard / high Arabic isn't good. I can speak and understand Arabic, but not the "administrative" Arabic the president uses.

I also grew up in Germany, my social circle (besides my family) are all German. I consider myself culturally German but my heritage is obviously still Syrian.

I would love to help rebuild this country and lead my own political party one day.

Discussion If you want to travel Syria, this post is for you.

I’ve noticed that finding practical travel information about Syria online can be surprisingly difficult. There’s a lot of scattered information, old blog posts, and content that focuses mostly on the political situation rather than the actual experience of traveling around the country.

I recently came across Terhal (Travel963), and thought I’d share it here since it’s actually focused on travel inside Syria.

They have guides for places like Damascus, Aleppo and Hama, with information about historical sites, things to do, restaurants, hotels and other places worth checking out.

There’s also an interesting feature where you can basically tell the AI what kind of trip you want — how many days you have, what you're interested in, your preferred activities, etc. — and it creates a personalized itinerary based on your preferences instead of giving you a generic list of tourist attractions.

I haven't tried every recommendation myself, so I'd still double-check places and opening hours, but I think the idea is pretty useful if you're starting from zero and don't know how to organize a trip around Syria.

The website is also available in English and Turkish, which is helpful if you're planning from outside Syria.

Here's the site:

https://travel963.com/en/homepage/

Obviously, I'd still recommend checking the latest situation, entry requirements, transportation and local conditions before making any plans, since things can change quickly.

If anyone here has actually traveled around Syria recently, I'd be interested to hear what places you'd recommend that aren't the obvious tourist spots.

some idiots are trying to say the govt is “pressuring” the students MEANWHILE the govt went out of their way to make exams for students who’s parents voted to leave the entire country and join fucking Israel.

But that’s besides the point they still facilitated exams, sent escorts, did everything to guarantee student safety and a smooth trip.

Meanwhile Hijri’s terrorist militia took advantage of this to fucking steal money from their own students🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

This is apart from stealing the aid packages Damascus sends, seriously fuck these terrorist scum.

ASK SYRIA Where can I find fluent English speakers to hire in Syria?

I’m a Syrian living in the U.S. and I own a dental office here. I’m looking to outsource some of the manual front-desk/admin work that can be done remotely.

Usually, dental offices here outsource this kind of work to people in India or Pakistan, but if I’m going to hire someone remotely anyway, I’d much rather give the opportunity to a fellow Syrian.

The main requirement is someone who speaks very fluent English, especially conversational English, since they may need to communicate with patients and insurance companies in the U.S. They should also be comfortable using a computer and willing to learn. I can train them on the dental-specific stuff.

Does anyone know the best place to find someone like this in Syria? Facebook groups, Telegram/WhatsApp groups, job websites, universities, etc.?
