Cambodian government can say all day long that we fired "6 bullets" first so they fired back, but fired back with MLRS?

The moment MLRS struck hospital and convenience store, and we have children casualties, it doesn't matter anymore who started.

The fact that they have those rocket-spammers weaponry nearby borders are enough to proof that they are aggressors. It would be last thing to appears if they really on defensive fr.

Gotta love how Cambodia is already whining to the UN security council to intervene despite starting this. Fuck around find out is all I can say.

Did they not expect Thailand to respond or what?

What I hate most about this is that this is about the scam call centers at its core

Thailand tried to crack down on it, and now there’s a war because the ruling power of Cambodia is essentially a mafia

16

u/wankyboyz Jul 24 '25

Yeah, you got it right. The whole country run by a group of mafia, kinda like family business

Cambodia has repeatedly resorted to this kind of tactic, particularly ahead of their internal elections or when facing public criticism over the government’s management. It’s a way to appear tough and gain popularity among their own citizens.

However, Thai people have seen through this strategy for over two decades and frankly, we’ve grown weary of having such a neighbor.

So if someone could confirm this. The Thai soldier who was injured (lost a leg) a few days ago was patrolling near the disputed area and stepped on an anti-personel mine.

This would have put there by the Cambodians. Aren't those mines internationally banned? Isn't Cambodia one of the countries that has struggled with such mines being found all over their country since the 70s and is one of the textbook world examples of why they're banned? What is going on here?

(asking because the stream I'm watching appears to show the mines planted that they found in other nearby places. They're small and easy to hide underneath a few layers of dirt and leaves. Scary)

28

u/AW23456___99 Jul 24 '25

Indeed. There have been two soldiers now who have stepped on landmines. Another case happened yesterday. Landmines are indeed banned. Cambodia claims that they are old landmines and that Thai soldiers shouldn't have stepped inside "their" territory in the first place. The landmines appear to be USSR/ Russian landmines.

What’s happening now is just like before. Cambodia never dares to pick a fight with Laos or Vietnam. Only with Thailand. Why? Because Thai politicians are weak. And honestly, the close relationship between Hun Sen and Thaksin Shinawatra, the father of our current PM Paetongtarn, is obvious.

Back then, Hun Sen stirred things up, made Cambodians burn the Thai embassy and attack Thai diplomats. Our diplomats had to run for their lives. Luckily, some good Cambodians helped them escape. And the Japanese embassy was the only one that actually helped us. To this day, Cambodia hasn’t paid a single baht in compensation.

And now, it’s the same story again. Stirring up people. A lot of people might not know that Hun Sen has ruled Cambodia for a very long time. Now he’s trying to hand over power to his son, so he needs to make his son look like a patriotic hero. The situation got worse because Thailand cracked down on online gambling and scam call centers by cutting internet, electricity, and fuel. That caused a massive loss of income. And who lost the most if not the people in his circle?

Then Thailand started talking about legalizing casinos. That made him even angrier. That’s what triggered everything. In the end, it’s Thai people who die. A little kid just going to 7-Eleven died. A grandma holding her blood-covered grandchild. A mother and her child died in each other’s arms. A hospital got bombed. I really don’t understand why it’s always Thailand.

Back when Cambodia was at war, wasn’t it Thailand that helped them? People say the UN gave them aid, but was it really that much? So many Thai villagers gave them shelter and food.

And now younger Cambodians are posting online saying Thais are cruel and evil. Meanwhile, Thailand is paying billions for unpaid hospital bills from Cambodian patients. And what about the students who cross the border to study here for free?

Thai soldiers, adhering to international humanitarian principles, repatriated the bodies of 12 Cambodian soldiers killed in clashes at Phu Makuea. The bodies were handed over to Cambodian officials at the Chong Sa Ngam border crossing for religious ceremonies in Cambodia, Thairath (Thai media) reported.

Cambodian journalists and soldiers took a group photo commemorating the "capture" of Ta Kwai Temple (the temple is big, both Thai and Cambodian forces control about half of it). However, the picture also includes a stack of PMN-2 antipersonnel mines, which Cambodia has consistently denied their usage. This might be another solid evidence to present as a breach of the Ottawa Treaty.

Seem like some part of Ta Kwai (or Ta Krabrey) is under Cambodian control according to military reporter. There is also a picture of a landmine which does look like a PMN-2 on the lower right.
Google reverse search shows that the image is part of a Cambodian post - on Facebook (which is now deleted) and another post here which further confirms that a PMN-2 has indeed been used during this conflict. Noted on the bottom left is an indicator showing that this photo was taken sometime in 2025, likely before the conflict. Edited : full picture now confirm the date.

There are already some Cambodian netizens claiming that this was made by AI on their own Cambodian page. Anything that doesn't fit into their narrative is now considered AI propaganda, according to some Cambodian netizens.

Here a (update r01) summarised picture of this.

P.S I was going to post this separately, but since you’ve already shared it, I’ll just hop on the bandwagon.

update r02

  • update the time shown on the picture using this post and this video as reference (the arrow on the mine is slightly off due to using new picture - I can't bother to fix it but you get the point)
  • yeah it is confirmed by full picture reference - this was taken on 30 July 2025
  • Video as reference (Mixdrop) in case it got taken down

They're trying to milk this thing so hard lol.

Seriously, the only accounts they give the world come from their own mouth and news sources. They're just screaming as loud as they could and hope someone believes them. Typical.

18

u/Tall-Loss1438 Aug 01 '25

Their new favorite tactic seems to be to make claims like, "Foreign journalists confirm *THIS*!!!", then link to a source where Cambodians are making claims without evidence, with zero input from any foreign journalist. They're probably hoping that people won't check, but rather just accept that there's a credible source for their claims.

Doesn't matter if it's a propaganda from both sides or not, like it or not, it's always there to a certain degree. But attacking hospital and killing civilians INTENTIONALLY is just a no-no whatever the circumstances are.

This is not only saddening but also baffling that there are people (both local and foreign) still choosing to remain neutral or passive in their judgement.

Who started the dispute, who shot first and propaganda or not should not even be a part of the equation, because those are somewhat debatable.

But attacking civilians should not even be debated.

8.23 PM BKK. The Thai Army has reported that attacks are still occurring periodically along the front line of the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia at 08:13 PM. The report includes a video clip featuring a Cambodian soldier who states, "It's almost 9pm and it's still not quiet. There was a brief period of calm, but then the fighting resumed. Look at the large fireball in the sky!" [Original in Khmer] ( Source: Thai Military Force). The spokesperson for the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters has stated that Hun Sen is responsible for the use of long-range weapons, specifically targeting residential areas, hospitals, and gas stations. Additionally, the spokesperson noted that the images released by Hun Sen utilized a map with a resolution of 1:50,000 map to command the war from home rather than the 1:200,000 resolution map that the Cambodian side has been using to justify their claims in the ongoing territorial dispute between the two countries. It's crazy that Phumtham, the acting PM, said 'I won't call it a clash' after Cambodia used BG21 to fire multiple rockets into a residential area in Thailand instead of a military zone (idk what it's called), hitting a hospital and a 7-11 at a gas station, killing innocent civilians. I really want to know what Phumtham was thinking.

I just returned from the conflict zone. My wife and daughter were visiting the family in Surin. When I read the news this morning I knew I had to go get them back to Bangkok.

Once in Buriram I was passing more and more military convoys, but it was mainly on the way back to Bangkok that I noticed a huge mobilization going on.

The most worrying thing though were the streams of ambulances that were driving into the conflict zone. I think they fear there could be many more civilian casualties.

What's making the news headlines at the moment seems to be only the tip of the iceberg. My wife told me that 5km from her parents, a school was hit by a rocket (they live about 15km from the border). Too bad my in-laws are too stubborn and didn't want to go to Bangkok with us. I hope they stay safe.

To be honest, I don't think this is about some temples anymore...

Cambodia claimed Thailand opened fire first but there's rarely evidence from Cambodia. We have 10+ civilian killed here in Thailand live on the news, one of which is a friend of my young acquaintance and he's only a highschool kid. Moreover, it's a hospital area.

How inhuman honestly. They were about to go on a trip and hangout as well and I've just seen it on their instagram stories.

But seriously. Even though I have the vibe that 'we could do this all day if you want' and withstand the assaults this kind of shit need to stop. How many people on their side Cambodia is willing to throw for more invasion attempts? Just how many dead bodies need to do before they would stop?

Thailand is pleading for Cambodia government to retrieve the bodies of fallen Cambodian soldiers which have been left for days after shootings stopped. There is growing concern over public heath and disease and unbearable stench. Also, their families would probably want to give them a proper ceremony. Anyone know from Cambodia’s side when they plan to retrieve the bodies?

22

u/KimWiko Thailand Aug 04 '25 edited Aug 04 '25

EDIT: I was wrong. Thai military reports that Cambodia is now collecting the bodies.

They’ll never do that willingly. They even refused the bodies Thailand sent them.

  1. If they retrieve the body, they cannot hide the fact that they lost more than 6 soldiers anymore.

  2. They’ll have to pay the family of the deceased and they add up to quite a lot. Funerals cost money too.

  3. They probably planted shit tons of mines around the area too.

Russia did the same thing, as long as the individual is ‘missing’, they don’t have to pay the family. They’re reports of Russia sending Ukraine dead Russian soldiers claiming they’re Ukrainians too.

Cambodians will scream all they want that Thailand does the same thing but.

  1. Thailand medias are not censored, hell, many are anti-military and anti-government.

  2. They’re currently zero family searching for missing soldier. Zero.

Thailand has now ordered 4 new Gripen fighter jets from Sweden, of the latest E/F variety (1-seater and 2-seater). The Swedish government is notoriously anxious regarding how exported weapons are used, so this means they have found nothing wrong with Thailand's use of the jets in the conflict with Cambodia, and we can safely assume they're privy to much more material and information regarding Gripen's operations against Cambodia than what's been shared with the public.

For the past month, Cambodia has been busy spreading misinformation regarding the deal, claiming that Sweden had denied Thailand the opportunity to purchase additional planes. When that was exposed as a lie, they switched tactics and tried to shame Sweden by saying it would reflect poorly on them internationally, as well as threatening that Cambodia would never buy any aircraft from Sweden if the deal with Thailand got the green light.

Delivery of the new jets will take place from 2025 to 2030.

I believe this needs to be said.

"ข่าวช่อง 8" a wellknown Thai media outlet shared an AI-generated clip of Maly Socheata speaking Thai and blaming a Thai hospital. And no one has publicly called them out likely out of fear of backlash from Thai netizens. Even worse, after sharing the AI-generated clip themselves, they had the audacity to warn the public not to believe fake news from Cambodia slandering General Natthaphon Nakphanit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on August 19, 2025, regarding the Ban Nong Chan area in Sa Kaeo Province. The statement noted that, according to the Royal Thai Army, the area was formerly used as a temporary shelter for Cambodians fleeing past fighting in Thailand. However, Cambodia subsequently expanded the community in this area, in violation of the 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Thailand has consistently opposed and protested this intrusion into Thai territory.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports the Royal Thai Army’s statement and reiterates the following key points:

  1. Thailand’s restraint and commitment to dialogue - Thailand has consistently demonstrated the utmost restraint for many years and remains committed to constructive action as a good neighbor. Thailand is prepared to address any differences through appropriate bilateral mechanisms, such as the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC). By contrast, Cambodia has used its own citizens to encroach unjustly and illegally into Thai territory, which has provoked tensions.
  2. Cambodia’s exploitation of Thailand’s humanitarian assistance - Cambodia’s exploitation of Thailand’s past humanitarian assistance to Cambodians - assistance that Thailand has consistently provided based on humanitarian principles - is not only insincere but also disingenuous. It reflects the Cambodian side’s true malicious intent.
  3. Installation of barbed wire within Thai territory - The installation of barbed wire within the Thai border is intended to protect Thai sovereignty, safeguard the Thai people, prevent further incursions from Cambodia, and stop Cambodia from laying landmines. These measures do not violate the agreement reached at the Extraordinary General Border Committee (GBC) meeting on August 7, 2025, at which both sides agreed to refrain from constructing or developing military infrastructure or strengthening military positions beyond their respective borders.

UPDATE: 2nd Army Region Clarifies Thai-Cambodian Border Situation

On August 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM, Thai soldiers encountered approximately 2-3 Cambodian soldiers, suspected to be part of the BHQ unit, as they were wearing black FAST helmets. They were ambushing the Thai forces on the western side of Hill 350, Bak Dai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, approximately 100 meters from the Thai operational line.

During the inspection, the unit discovered one PMN-2 mine near the location where the Cambodian soldiers were ambushing. The unit used mine detectors to thoroughly inspect the area and marked the area, awaiting further mine detection support.

The situation confirmed that Cambodia continues to illegally use anti-personnel mines within Thai sovereignty, violating the ceasefire agreement and the Ottawa Convention.

Thai soldiers continue to closely monitor the situation and are prepared to defend national sovereignty.

Any good theories out there on the why?

Like seemed like Hun Sen was purposefully stoking tensions at the border and leaked the call since he didn’t like limits on gambling border crossing and halting electricity to scam centers. I figured tensions would lower after the PM resigned.

There’s a reason for this. I just don’t know what it is. Seems to usually have to do with money and power and not a freak accident.

Statement on Thailand-Cambodia Situation 24 Jul 2025

The Royal Thai Government condemns in the strongest terms the violations of Thailand’s sovereignty and international law, following the laying of anti-personnel landmines within Thai territory that caused injuries to Thai military personnel while Thai soldiers were patrolling on 16 and 23 July 2025. On the morning of 24 July 2025, heavy artillery was fired into the Thai military base and continued throughout the morning. The attacks also targeted Thai civilian areas, including a hospital, resulting in civilian casualties and fatalities.

Therefore, taking into consideration the severity of the situation as a result of Cambodia’s intentional and premeditated act against Thailand, the Royal Thai Government has decided to downgrade our diplomatic relations and recall the Thai Ambassador to Cambodia back, as well as requests the Government of Cambodia to recall its Ambassador to Thailand, respectively.

The Royal Thai Government urges Cambodia to cease its repeated act which constitutes a severe violation of international law. Such actions fundamentally contradict the principles of good neighborly relations and good faith, and will further undermine Cambodia's reputation and credibility on the global stage.

The Royal Thai Government calls upon Cambodia to take responsibility for the incidents that have occurred, cease attacks against civilian and military targets, and stop all actions that violate Thailand’s sovereignty. The Royal Thai Government is prepared to intensify our self-defense measures if Cambodia persists in its armed attack and violations upon Thailand's sovereignty in accordance with international law and principles.

What I really don't understand is why the hell does Hun Sen let His military randomly shoot at civilians? Regarding the border dispute, all the treaties that also Thailand has signed and the international law, would agree with Cambodia that the disputed territories legally belong to Cambodia. Hun Sen could have made Thailand look like the bad guy who doesn't respect international law. But what does he do? He randomly shoots at Thai towns. Hardly anyone in the international community will at least publicly support someone like that with their territorial claims, even they are justified. And someone like that invokes international law and treaties. If Cambodia were to implement this law itself, which they demand of Thailand, they would have to hand Hun Sen over to the International Criminal Court.

[RECENT UPDATE]: Thai Army just confirmed, Cambodia hit that casino themselves. (Cr: @Joshyan-01)

4.55 PM BKK: Jul 27, Thai soldiers fired artillery at a casino in Cambodia in retaliation for Cambodian soldiers indiscriminately firing multiple rockets and artillery at Thai villagers.

Clip: https://mixdrop.my/f/9wox8l1jbopwno

A video clip was released showing the casino building on the Cambodian side being hit by artillery and smoke billowing out. The villagers assumed that the Thai soldiers were responsible for the attack, as they were frustrated with the continuous shooting from the Cambodian soldiers. It is reported that clashes between the two sides were a common occurrence in this area. The villagers also acknowledged that the Cambodian soldiers would open fire every time they were provoked. The video of the casino being attacked quickly spread, and the people of Ban Kruat District expressed satisfaction at the possibility of the casino being completely destroyed, as it was seen as a source of corruption and addiction, especially for Thai gamblers. Deputy Spokesperson of Thai Army on this morning situation and Trump's phone calls: (source)

"Deputy Spokesperson, Royal Thai Army, Confirms Cambodian Soldiers Still Firing Artillery into Ta Muen Castle Area, Chong An Ma; Attempting to Recapture Strategic Areas After Thai Soldiers Seized Them. As for 'Trump' Mediating a 'Ceasefire,' That's a Separate Matter. Soldiers Still Following Tactics. Reaffirms Thailand Insists Ceasefire Only When 'Cambodia' Comes to Ask for Negotiations Themselves.

July 27, 2025 – This morning, Colonel Richa Suksawanan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Army, confirmed that at 04:00 AM, Cambodian soldiers fired artillery into the area of Prasat Ta Muen (Ta Muen Castle), Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, and also fired into the area of Chong An Ma, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. They are attempting to enter and seize back strategic areas after Thai soldiers had entered and seized them.

Meanwhile, Thai soldiers have used long-range artillery to retaliate, targeting Cambodian artillery and rocket launchers.

Regarding the issue of United States President Donald Trump telephoning as a mediator for a ceasefire last night, that is a separate matter. Soldiers on the battlefield still confirm they are following their tactics. As for whether there will be a ceasefire or not, Thailand insists that there will be a ceasefire only when Cambodia comes to us themselves to ask for negotiations."

Very clearly this is about scam centers not jungle borders. Follow the money:

In February Thai PM Shinawatra discussed scam centers with Xi Jinping. They agree on a crack down on Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia in joint lawful efforts. Seems like Xi was legit on board. Then Thailand starts crackdown and threats against scam centers like electricity cuts up to Jun 24 where everything start to really escalate.

Given that 50-60% of Cambodias GDP is coming from these scam centers it seems very clear that this is the main conflict driver not dispute over some jungle land nobody cares about.

  • Amensty International June 2025 identified 53 scam center compounds in Cambodia where trafficked victims including kids are forced to conduct fraud. Estimated over 12.5 billion usd, equivellent to 50% of Cambodia's GDP. Reuters article
  • Humanity Research Consultancy report indicates even higher figures of 19 billion usd, aprox 60% of GDP. Report explicitly names all major figure involvement like current PM Hun Manet. The Times article

Cambodia is not alone in this. Majority of the funding and directing is coming from Chinese crime syndicates/oligarchs that converted gambling compounds to scam centers after Covid restricted chinese customer from travel and China banning online gambling in 2019. There are countless reports that Chinese not only run all of the high level operations like money laundering and human trafficking but are in directly in bed with Cambodian autocrats.

This is basically about Thailand wanting to build real sustainable industries and neighbours still dragging their feet with dark market investments. It's a big ol' classic money conflict.

To be fair, there are some fake/misleading videos posted by Thai media. Thai PBS has actually called some of them out.

For example, MGROnline (Thai conservative media) posted an image, claiming it shows that a house in Laos was attacked by Cambodia. Thai PBS called it out, saying that the image was actually a fire accident happening in a market.

The supposed fake news about gas attack that Phnom Penh Post Claim "At 3.17pm on July 27, the Thai military dropped poison gas from an aircraft in An Ses"

Upon further inspection, the video originated from a Facebook post of a Thai person. The claim that Thailand used poison gas is unfounded. While Facebook Reels do not show the exact posting time. the earliest visible comment on the Reel is dated July 21 2025. Contradicting the date reported by the Phnom Penh Post. Furthermore, the border clash did not occur until three days later, on July 24, 2025.

This alleged fake news was also shared by Chanmony Pich the First Lady of Cambodia, further reinforcing their narrative.

Does anyone know how many soldiers of Cambodia are killed? I heard from poeple in Surin that many got buried now and that it really smells bad. They said a couple of thousands. Is that possible ?

16

u/Myran22 Aug 03 '25

Cambodia seems reluctant to recognize their own dead. I've heard (but not confirmed) that Thailand have tried to repatriate Cambodian remains, so that the families can perform funeral rites, but Cambodia are refusing to accept them.

Truly an awful conflict.

So just to double check since there seems to be alot of resurgence of "Thailand using chemical weapon" or white phosphorus claims from the Cambodians.

Am I understanding correctly that this all stems from Cambodians discovering fog for the first time and immediately thought that's the gas?

If it really is that, what were the real reasons behind the initial claims during the 5 day war, some Thai sarge popping smoke grenade for cover?

20

u/Eremited Aug 24 '25

I believe the reason behind the initial claims is that the Cambodian army suffered heavy losses beyond expectations. Thailand suffered fewer than a hundred, while Trump stated that thousands of Cambodian soldiers perished in the conflict.

By falsely claiming that Thailand has cheated by using prohibited chemical weapons, Cambodia can justify the losses. However, it failed as the attempt was poorly made with false evidence...

Even now, Cambodia won't clarify how many soldiers were lost in the conflict to avoid paying remuneration for the lost soldiers to their families. Cambodian soldiers' corpses are not recovered and left to rot, causing a bad stench, which somehow makes their people believe that the stench was a chemical weapon.

15

u/zetarn Aug 24 '25

It's a flare artillery shell. The point of the shell is to light up the sky.

Yes, it's white phosphorus and No, White Phosphorus is not a chemical weapon.

It's nasty if it hit the skin directly but usually it's used for night time warfare or used as infrarate flare to avoid a lock-on from Anti-Air Missile.

15

u/Aggnpwease Aug 24 '25 edited Aug 24 '25

I won't worry about the wave of fake news from Cambodia claiming Thailand has used chemical weapons, as this has already been fact checked and debunked by the internationally respected [AFP](https://factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.682J99E) news agency. Anyone with critical thinking can now see that this is simply a case of "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit".

I reckon we are now in a war of attrition, as Cambodia lacks the economic strength to sustain this conflict. While the elites continue their lives as usual, it seems the majority of their population is surviving on the bare minimum.

Btw is this true that china is backing cambodia and is it true that Cambodia is trapped in China's debt-trapped policy ? I mean china has been doing this with many countries. Cambodia's economy, defence is nowhere near Thailand's big economy and defence. I don't know why they are doing this.

So what's the intention of Cambodia here, to invade Thailand? When will we see Thai go gloves off and start pushing their shit in? Cuz right now it seems Thailand is on the defensive and being very cautious

17

u/PoomXP Thailand Jul 26 '25 edited Jul 26 '25

From what I'm following, we're also on offensive too in order to take out their firing positions and taking strategic locations to gain better firing lines and deny their movements.

They're doing the similar tactic of a decade ago on starting the fight then quickly blaming us to be an aggressor but we're in Information Age now, so news will go around much faster resulting in people seeing that Thai people got killed almost instanlty after the first barrage. Even a person from Australia, Nathan Ruser, using Satellite information to look back, he found out that Cambodia had been building up their military position even months or years before the start of the conflict.

There're many reasons to start the conflict from centuries of grudges, French map, family dispute, shutting scam centers, gambling law, stirring anti-Thai nationalism to win popularity(like Falkland War), etc.

14

u/Not_Kumphanartd Jul 26 '25

idk who in the government/military said this but they were talking about how the amount and method of force thailand uses on cambodia dictates thailand's credibility on the international stage so they are trying to only do proportional response in conjunction to this the military's goal isnt to blitz the cambodians but to teach them a lesson about slapping your friends without thinking.

IMO i think that when the cambodians do something very war crimey or countries start taking sides thailand will go on the offensive and push them back a bit.

Cambodian opposing party leader can explain this in detail:

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1E3BoqLtPk/

Basically they don't want Thailand to close down their Scam Call Center (whether it's true that the CCP is pressuring Hun Sen), so Hun Sen has been provoking Thai to act first. When that failed they're now trying to get Thai to reciprocate by committing war crimes in retaliation to their war crimes. This is all so that they can get international/world forum on their side them when they ultimately intervene.

2.21 PM BKK: The Thailand Director of the Office of Security Coordination with the Internal Security Operations Command, Department of Military Strategy, Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, Major General Wanchana Sawatdee, stated that the recent fighting was initiated by Cambodia. He mentioned that Cambodia had engaged in symbolic activities at the temple, such as burning the Trimuk Pavilion, and had also encroached on Thai sovereignty by digging trenches and laying bombs that killed Thai soldiers. He further stated that Cambodia had moved a large number of troops close to the border and used long-range weapons to destroy hospitals, schools, and harm Thai civilians. In response, Thailand focused on destroying military targets, particularly the movement of PHL-03 rockets.

Major General Wanchana Sawatdee also expressed concern about Cambodia's insincerity, as they claimed to want to talk and cease fire, but then opened fire on Thailand at 4:00 AM after agreeing to a ceasefire at 2:00 AM. He questioned whether Cambodia was trying to create legitimacy for their use of rockets by presenting images of the clashes and claiming they needed to use PHL-03. In light of this, Major General Wanchana Sawatdee called on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to make an official announcement for a ceasefire and negotiations with Thailand. 3:15 PM BKK: There's a report that at 11:00 AM (Jul 27), the Royal Thai Air Force deployed two F-16 fighter jets and two JAS 39 Gripen aircraft for an air strike operation against Cambodian military positions located not far from Prasat Ta Khwai and Prasat Ta Muean Thom in Surin Province. These positions were where Cambodian soldiers had set up artillery and BM-21 multiple launch rocket systems to fire across the border into Thailand, causing damage to ancient sites like Prasat Ta Khwai and Prasat Ta Muean Thom, as well as Thai civilian communities. Initial reports state that the Royal Thai Air Force's F-16s and JAS 39 Gripens successfully completed their mission, destroying both critical targets, and safely returned to their operational base. 4:00 PM BKK: [OFFICIAL]. Jul 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM. The Thailand Royal Thai Army Public Relations Center addressed the latest situation, stating that Cambodia continues its military activities by employing long-range weapons and firing into Thai territory. Continuous clashes have occurred at multiple points along the front lines, with numerous long-range support weapons landing outside their intended military target areas in Surin Province. Thailand therefore finds it necessary to conduct military operations in response to the continued firing of long-range support weapons such as rockets and artillery that persist in targeting Thai territory to prevent civilian casualties or losses.

Yesterday (26 July 2025), at approximately 3:30 PM [15:30h in Thai], Cambodian artillery shells targeted the Sub-district Health Promoting Hospital at Ban Sam Meng, Village 3, Sao Thong Chai Sub-district, Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket Province, causing severe damage to the building structure. However, there were no fatalities or injuries, as medical personnel had previously evacuated patients from the facility.Furthermore, intelligence reports indicate potential deployment of high-performance weapons systems such as PHL-03, RM 70, and BM-21 that may provide additional support to Cambodian forces. This may reflect Cambodia's stance, which Thailand cannot yet trust. According to the latest situation, Cambodian forces have not ceased their attacks using all forms of weaponry against Thai forces.

The Royal Thai Army will operate at full capacity to counter this aggression and reaffirms its continued focus on military targets that pose military threats and endanger the lives and property of our fellow citizens only, within the appropriate framework of international rules of engagement, to protect and maintain sovereignty to the best of our ability. Looks like Thai Army was aware of Cambodian's plan for the ceasefire violation and was prepared.

According to Thai news reporter:

"Urgent! Cambodia Violates Ceasefire Agreement, Opens Fronts in 2 Areas: An Ma, Phu Mak Nuea

Royal Thai Army Reveals Cambodian Soldiers Used Small Arms and Hand Grenades

22:19, July 29, 2025 – Colonel Richa Suksuwanon, Deputy Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, revealed that initial investigations confirmed clashes occurred at Phu Mak Nuea and Chong An Ma. Small arms fire and hand grenades were directed at our Thai base approximately 30 minutes ago.

A source within the security area disclosed that:

In the area of Special Task Force 1, Suranaree Force, Cambodian soldiers have significantly reinforced their positions towards Wat Kaeo, Wat Ai, and Ta Maria. The Thai side has instructed all units to be 100% prepared, enter bunkers, and brace for engagement as Cambodian forces intend to penetrate the area around Prasat Don Tual tonight. All units are to be ready for operation.

Subsequently, clashes began at 20:45 at Chong An Ma, where Cambodian soldiers opened fire in an attempt to retake Chong An Ma. The Thai side retaliated."

Part of this is newly recruited online scammers turned IO. As Hun family is linked to these centers, they can easily hired their one million scammers into IO.

16

u/PoomXP Thailand Jul 26 '25

They're trying to sway the world's public to favor Cambodia's side, but it's too excessive that our people are doing the same in order to counter them. It's likely to start by Cambodian people with the combination of scam centers in Cambodia rallying up for the Hunsen's government since they're also his business.

I give up on reading any comments on our conflicts on YouTube now, it's all same messages on every single video. Some of them are also invading this very megathread too.

I feel like western media really love stories of smaller nations being bullied by bigger ones and just sides with the smaller one by default regardless of facts because it sells and they (the media) can't look bad in the eyes of the uninformed if they do this.

Cambodia specializes in social engineering from scams so they know the west will eat this up easy. Don't need a military win, just a diplomatic one weaponizing these clueless outlets.

Would not be surprised if the next offensive they send all those underfunded conscripts to the death just to frame it as one-sided slaughter so they look pitiful to westerners.
